Hi everyone! Iâve decided to watch the new Disney movie Luca with a class of young teenagers. This is a beautiful movie that came out during summer of 2021 and it has such a great moral. As there isnât much material available related to the movie on the Internet, Iâve prepared a comprehension worksheet to work with my students. The activities were designed for students at a pre-intermediate/intermediate level. The worksheet includes:
1- A summary for students to complete with words from a box
2- A set of statements that students will analyze to decide if they are true or false
3- A list of characters that students will use to describe their main qualities
4- A set of questions for oral discussion
5- A game!
Hope you find it useful!

In these decks, youâll find authentic and contextualized grammar practice to help students master the present tense (simple and continuous) and past tense (simple and continuous). You only need to download the pdf and click on the links!
The tasks are based on the movie âEnola Holmesâ which Netflix launched last September 23 2020. This movie is so good and the perfect excuse to get students to practice grammar in a controlled but purposeful and meaningful way. For each tense, your students will have a grammar explanation and practice activities based on the movie (this is not a comprehension worksheet but the exercises have to do with the movie - thatâs why students must watch it to make the tasks more relevant to them).
In the case of the present tenses, in addition to completing sentences, students will have to describe pictures by filling in the blanks with what they can see and what is happening. These answers are free and teacher-graded so that instructors can really measure how much students have learned.
For past tenses, in addition to completing sentences, students will have to answer a question in at least 50 words to explain how the movie ends. These answers are free and teacher-graded so that instructors can really measure how much students have learned. Connect with me at onthemovedigital@gmail.com for an expected answer for the last activity!

HAPPY TEACHING!
Hi all! I highly recommend watching this Netflix series! Itâs aimed at teenagers and it tackles different topics that they will be so interested in.
I created this worksheet to analyse the trailer which came out in 2020. This is whatâs included in the file:
Pre-viewing activities: discussion of important terms from the seriesâ synopsis. Students use them to give examples about themselves.
While-viewing activities: students watch the trailer and answer 5 comprehension questions.
Post-viewing activities: students work in groups and use their answers from question 5 (previous exercise) to discuss the superpowers that appear in the video.
This worksheet could be adapted for distance learning by using liveworksheets.com
My students seemed motivated to watch the whole series after completing this worksheet. I hope it works well for your class too!
Let me know what you think in a review !
Hi there! I designed this worksheet to work with the movie âThe Fifth Waveâ which is available on Netflix! I found it quite useful to use this worksheet in-between exams, just to help my students relax and be entertained!
This worksheet includes three comprehension tasks:
Match characters with pictures
Match descriptions with characters
Watch, read and answer true or false
My students loved this film! I recommend that you watch it with teens.
I hope you enjoy it!
Hi everyone! In an attempt to teach the past simple in a meaningful and purposeful way, Iâd like to share this grammar worksheet based on the series âThe Umbrella Academyâ, which Netflix launched in 2019. In the PDF, there are are three exercises:
Predict the showâs themes and genre based on pictures and the synopsis (donât forget to confirm studentsâ predictions!)
Watch the trailer on YouTube (link provided) and complete the summary using past simple.
Answer this question: would you like to watch the show? Why? Discuss in groups.
This worksheet is aimed at teens or adults and you can use it in-class or digitally! (check liveworksheets.com)
I hope you find it useful!
Hello dear teachers! This is a comprehension and vocabulary worksheet that I created to complete after watching the movie Over The Hedge on Netflix!
This worksheet includes three activities:
matching pictures with character names and name of animals
describing characters (mainly by using have got in all of its forms)
description of real-life animals by using pictures (connected to Science)
You can implement this material in your online lessons by using the site liveworksheets (itâs free - send me a message if you need guidance!)
My students learned a lot and had fun after working with this worksheet!
As promised, Iâve designed and worked with the first episode of the series Unorthodox, a really interesting and controversial series which deals with Hasidic communities (orthodox Jewish communities) and gender roles . This set of activities is intended for pre-intermediate students who are not ready to comprehend long stretches of oral discourse. Hope you find it useful as I did.
Part 1 âHASIDIC COMMUNITIES THE NEW YORK TIMES READINGâ to activate background knowledge of the topic. I included an authentic article from the New York Times which is about Hasidic communities and coronavirus. Students complete some reading activities and then focus on vocabulary related to the pandemic and a grammar exercise to summarize the article in which they work with present simple and present continuous.
Part 2 "HALF WAY THROUGH THE FIRST EPISODEââ. There are a number of pre, while and post comprehension activities to check understanding of the first half of episode 1.
Part 3 ''ROUNDING OFF THE FIRST EPISODE": Same as part 2, this time with more varied activities and a final writing task.
BONUS! The aim of this questionnaire is that students are able to describe a scene, to help them with retelling of the PLOT. The questions can guide them to go through and explain the storyline .
My students really liked the series and learned a lot about these communities, gender roles and coronavirus!

This is a comprehension worksheet that Iâve designed to work with the very first episode of âThe Crownâ from Netflix. Throughout the activities, students are supposed to:
Order events
Answer comprehension questions
Complete a description
Decide who said certain lines
Write whether statements are true or false
Carry out further research on important concepts from the episode
The activities are guided as it is stated in each exercise the exact minutes students should pay attention to in order to successfully complete the activities.
Iâm positive that your students will love this series as much as mine do!
