I am now a retired teacher having taught for over 40 years in the UK at secondary level. I wanted to share my love of Mathematics and teaching by providing a good set of resources which will more than cover all your needs for as many topics as I can and at good value for money. I am trying to cover many topics from foundation level GCSE up to grade 9 at higher level in a way that is interesting and relevant. I hope you like my style !

GCSE Calculator Practice (challenge) - With Answers

(0)
This is a great challenge aimed at higher level students who need to know how to use all the functions on their calculator. This is a PDF of 2 questions, each with 26 parts, which I set as a challenge to all students sitting higher level GCSE. Although the focus is on the use of a calculator I couldn’t resist including some estimation (throughout Q1) and approximations Q1 and Q2 just to top it off. No student has ever achieved 100% on these questions though I was always really pedantic in marking. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you

Question 2 has 10 parts all with the emphasis on the prefix - how many watts in a Kw etc - I always found this to be really useful Q3 - 24 are all worded problem involving the conversion of units. This is an excellent worksheet which can be used for Y6/7 all the way up to revising GCSE - a great set of questions. Answers are included Please give feedback as it helps me provide the best service that I can - thank you

This sheet has been divided into 5 clearly different sections allowing for differentiation. The second sheet starts with some factorisation and then goes into applications of factorisation - plenty to talk about here and give the more able a bit of a challenge. Answers are included. Rearranging Simple Equations - with answers

(0)
I wrote this sheet to meet the needs of GCSE Foundation level students - keeping the formula quite basic. It is ideal for the introduction of rearrangements in earlier years too. The sheet begins with 5 questions which show ‘why’ we need to rearrange. This is followed by 26 questions involving one x and one y and numbers - using as many everyday functions in as many ways as i could. Finally a further 26 questions where we introduce a and b as constants too - this often muddies the waters for Foundation students and I always found I had insufficient questions to offer them. This is a thorough worksheet as a pdf of two pages covering everything you will need from introduction to GCSE foundation level. Answers are included too Please provide feedback so I can continue to offer a good service.

Answers are included I would appreciate feedback as it always helps me to improve and provide the worksheets that you need

For students who need a bit of practice plotting quadratics I created a ‘write on’ worksheet, it covers all that you will need up to about grade 5/6. Aimed at GCSE it can be used at Key Stage 3 as well as 4. 5 questions with grids and scaled axes provided so plotting and curve sketching is made as straight forward as possible, followed by a couple of questions to check students accuracy. Answers are included. Please leave feedback, particularly if you like my work - thank you.

Q2 - both equations need to be multiplied before subtracting, answers are all whole numbers and the first negative answers start to appear around part o) Q3 - a mixture of questions using different letters, answers can be positive or negative and several have fractional answers though only very simple fractions/decimals are used.
