A task to write a holiday complaint letter with step-by-step instructions to create a good answer.
Used as an opportunity for students to write their first controlled-asessment style piece of writing, with plenty of support and room for extending with adverbial phrases (on separate sheet). I hope you have as much fun reading/teaching it as I did making it up!
When I taught this topic (Module 3 from Studio 1) I used a sentence builder at some point in each lesson to demonstrate the relevant language point. For revision I put them all together to remind the students of their learning. Great for a variety of games: Guess my sentence, translation into French, hands-down questioning (say an English sentence, turn the projector off after 3 seconds, and pupils give an answer from memory), the beep game ('beep' one element out - student guesses).
A single lesson revising Chapter/Kapitel 3 Freizeit - juhu! from the Stimmt 1 textbook. Pitched at year 7/8, or learners in their first year of German.
Covers present tense sentences, mainly ‘ich’ but some 2nd/3rd person too, as well as gern and time/frequency adverbs and und/aber/denn with a little bit of ‘weil’.

First lesson on p.134 - Reading and Writing, revising the use of the future tense in the context of the 'Wohnort' topic. 5-4-3-2-1 starter to reactivate previous knowledge, then textbook activities (helped by vocab list), then translations to USE the future tense. Second lesson on p.135 - starts with vocab test, then reactivation of structures to be used in the lesson, then Listening Bingo activity to introduce Listening recording, then Listening activity itself, then writing activity based on last two lessons, with a sheet of 4 steps to creating an excellent piece of writing.
2 lessons: in lesson 1, students learn 9 different shops. This lesson is full of AfL as the students set their own targets for learning these phrases during the lesson. In lesson 2, students use these phrases in sentences to describe what you buy where. Again, lots of practice and AfL techniques with a thumbs-up/down quiz to finish. Great for year 8.
Series of lessons guiding pupils through Expo 3 Rouge Module 3, covering:

2. other symptoms using 'etre' and 'avoir'
3. reflexive verbs in the past tense

Pupils have already created their own monsters and can describe their body parts. This lesson (could be 2 lessons) helps pupils to write their own poem comparing the monster's body parts to other objects!
A double-sided worksheet (file makes two A5 double-sided sheets) revising family members, adverbs of frequency and adjectives describing personality. Sentence-builders demonstrate how to compare family members - ends with a fairly amusing opportunity to say things like 'my mum is funnier than your mum!'; And a double-sided lesson of sentence builders describing your own family. Both suitable for lower sets.
Using the freely available SAMs and past papers for 2017 and 2018, I have created this comprehensive list of essay questions on the literary texts/films set by AQA, Edexcel and Eduqas/WJEC.
Use the filters at the top of each column (click the little downward arrow) to show only questions for the texts you teach, and you can easily create a list of past paper questions to give to students. This makes it easy for you to set essay tasks, and when the time comes, for students to complete their own revision essays.

This AQA-style speaking card for A Level/AS was inspired by this resource (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/aqa-a-level-german-2016-speaking-card-familie-im-wandel-11801641). I've used the original source text (link given in resource) to create a speaking card and questions which very closely mirror the specification. This card falls within the 'Familie im Wandel' sub-theme, and focuses on issues of adoption.
Pre-listening with keywords; predictive pre-listening task; listening (from Logo). 2nd task: video about school life. Leads to comparison between school systems and into speaking assessment preparation.
