Assessment covers all year 7 topics, such as the visual elements of art: Colour theory, texture, line, tone, shape and pattern. With artist references and theory questions for Colour theory, artist knowledge and understanding of key words, such as with tonal shading. Artists covered include: Nikki Farquharson, Vincent Van Gogh, Wassilly Kandinsky and Henri Matisse. Assessments complete with grade boundaries and boxes for students to self-evaluated (whats working well, what to improve/work on before my next assessment). Sgraffito lesson aimed at GCSE but could be used and adapted for KS3. Lesson gives an introduction and explanation to the type of work, then a step-by-step guide with pictures is provided to guide all students to success. Additionally there is a sheet of example images for when students are doing their own piece - inspiration board.

Simpson’s Movie poster re-design assessment. For this project students have been looking at the Simpson’s Movie and creating both branding and advertisements for this. This lesson includes: Written success criteria for the assignment. Inspiration/mood board of relevant images to help students with their design. Worksheet for the poster design which includes a marking table with self, peer and teacher assessment columns.
