This is a virtual visit of north africa / west africa aimed at GCSE / KS4 students to help practice key vocab + discover the French speaking world. a KS4 lesson about the topic of home and town. This has a photocard for starter to practice speaking, a text with blank to fill in (listening task) and a study time with the text. Differentiated plenary.

Introduction to the cinema. Starter : recap on present and future using the holiday topic (prior knowledge) + new vocab on film genre and opinions / reasons, Plenary: put words in the right order to form sentences and write their own.

KS3 / KS4 foundation. Objectives: to be able to form questions in French. Practice forming questions in French using the present and future tense. Est-ce que / pourquoi / où / quand

Used it with year 8 and they loved it! Simple recap of rules for er verbs present tense, followed by future and past tense. Plenary : angry birds translation game. I put pupils in 6 teams of 5, they need to smash the wall by getting the translation right and they then pick a number on the wall and behind it are points (it could be +2, +5 or even -1). Engagement 100%

KS3: Board game perfect for interactive whiteboard. 24 cases which hide differentiated translations around the theme of TV and cinema (3 tenses : present, perfect and near future) You can split the class into two teams (green and purple). The team with the most correct answers win! My pupils love this and are engaged throughout the lesson!
