This Pop Art Christmas Bauble resource is aimed at KS3 (11-14) art students but it could be used with upper KS2 too! It’s a great activity for group collaboration and to decorate your school Christmas tree as a gift from the art department. As this is a 3D based task to create a triskele bauble, it might also be useful in a DT lesson or as an after school activity.
Whilst there aren’t any teaching slides with this worksheet, the task would definitely fill a 50 minute lesson or longer if students designed their own Pop Art patterns.
This is a PDF printable download that consists of:
12 different Pop Art themed bauble construction sheets
1 Blank bauble construction sheet so that students can design their own Pop Art themed bauble and
1 Complete set of Instructions
Materials required:
Thick paper or card
Glue
Scissors
This is based on a lesson I designed in 2020 where I asked students to design and create a Picasso Christmas bauble. The 2D baubles were stuck to green paper and then used to construct a tree wall. I have updated this for 2023 to a 3D version in the themes of Pop Art and Picasso.
I also have a Picasso themed version.
https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/picasso-christmas-bauble-art-based-christmas-activity-picasso-print-or-design-your-own-12937927
And a blank version to design your own theme.

In this lesson students are to design a title page in their sketchbook using the theme of creatures and characters. They are to create their own monster typography. It is aimed at KS3 (11-14) students.
This lesson plan could span over two lessons and has slides to accommodate this. It could also be made shorter my implementing a homework task.
Each new lesson starts with an introduction slide where you can add key words, what you completed last lesson and what you plan to teach in this lesson. There is also a ‘do it now task’ slide, and a plenaries where applicable. The slides are adaptable to add your own learning objectives and learning resources. This set also includes a homework slide.

Based on a traditional A4 paper planner, your Evelyna Rose digital teacher planner has everything you need to plan your teaching year. This resource is a fully hyperlinked PDF digital teacher planner. Based on the layout of your favourite paper based teacher planners, I design these planners using publishing and image editing packages. Pages can be duplicated to increase sections and your planner can be used over and over again.
I have recently started to changed the designs of my planners on my website to make them more sustainable. I have removed the dated cover pages and whilst my planners still have a yearly date page for 23-24, 24-25 etc. this can easily be removed and replaced each year with a free date page insert.
This creatively designed, undated digital teacher planner can be used over and over again with your favourite note-taking app. As it is undated it can be re-used every year as a brand new planner.
I use my planner with the Penly app, on a Google Chromebook, but it can be used on IOS or Android. Best used with a stylus. This product can be used on desktop PDF applications like Adobe, but I can’t guarantee you will receive the same experience.
As a former teacher and stationery lover, I understand how important your teacher planner is. I designed your digital teacher planner to be flexible, adaptable, and to look great.

This weekly art task planner is aimed at students working towards any art based qualification where a final piece or exam based project is required. This resource could also be used for DT or Photography projects.
I created this resource when I was completing my Art Foundation and I needed to track my progress and keep a log of what I needed to complete each week. I then adapted this template to use within my own teaching of GCSE Y10 and Y11 classes as well as A Level art. It really helped students to focus on how much time they had left as well as what they needed to complete each week.
I found a daily timetable too complicated and preferred to plan out what I could achieve each week, but this download includes a daily and a weekly printable template.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Your PDF download comes with two versions:
A Weekly Calendar starting from Jan 24 to Jun 24 and has 7 Days per page (25 pages in total) for students who like to plan daily.
And…
A Six Week Calendar with 6 weeks per page, Starting Jan 24 - Jun 24 (5 pages in total) for students who like to plan in less detail and have a termly over view.
A4 size to print
Can be enlarged to A3 to allow room for writing.

This resource is a 4 week lesson plan based on the artist Paride Bertolin. It is aimed at KS3 (11-14) students. This block of lessons could be extended or shortened, depending on how long you want to spend on each section. Each part of the lesson plan is based on a 50 minute lesson.
This is part of a wider scheme of learning under the umbrella title of ‘Creatures & Characters.’
31 Power Point Slides include:
‘Do it now tasks’ and plenaries as well as lessons on sketching in the style of Bertolin and creating your own Bertolin inspired monster. Included are two video sections. The first on Bertolin’s sketchbook as well as a recorded video of how I created ink monsters using coloured pens and water.
Each lesson starts with an introduction slide to add your own information about what was previously completed and today’s lesson, as well as blank learning objectives section on each slide and keywords.
This lesson plan was updated on 1/1/24 - It includes a refresh of the slide deck and it now includes print outs of the starter activities as well as clearer instructions on how to set up this lesson as notes under some of the slides.

This set of lessons is a 1-2 week KS3 (11-14) plan on the artist John Kenn Mortensen, as part of the theme ‘Creatures and Characters.’ Originally taught over 2 x 50 minute lessons, it could easily be shortened to one lesson with additional homework.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Lesson 1
Students are required to discuss what types of nightmares scare children and then devise a scene by sketching out characters and ideas.
Lesson 2
Create a nightmare scene, in the style of Mortensen, on to a post-it-note / sticky note. You could also draw a post-it-note sized shape in to sketch books, but I found that students really loved drawing on to sticky notes.
Equipment needed: post it’s, pencil, black biro or fine liner.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Each lesson starts with an introduction slide to add your own information about what was previously completed and the content of todays lesson, as well as blank learning objectives section on each slide.
This task could be turned in to a homework if only one lesson is spent on designing.
11 Slide Powerpoint with a starter and plenary activity. Adaptable slides for you to add your own learning objectives, different images etc.

This resource combines two A3 worksheets exploring the artist Kurt Jackson. It is suitable for KS3 or KS4 students.
The worksheets use the work of Kurt Jackson to explore tone, shade, contrast and chiaroscuro. Students are required to complete a tonal value scale using the boxes at the bottom of the page.
I have recently updated the download to combine the two versions of this worksheet together. The activity task remains the same, but the first sheet provides information on the artist and the second requires students to research the artist using four prompt questions.
This download is perfect as a starting point for exploring the work of Kurt Jackson, explaining tonal range or as a cover lesson resource. It was originally designed by myself for a demo lesson for one of my PGCE training interviews.
Can be printed as A3 or A4.

This resource is intended to help KS3 students to describe their artwork using full sentences and to support students to evaluate their own or peer work using ‘What Went Well’ and ‘Even Better If’ prompts.
It comes as a printable A4 PDF that can be laminated and kept on student tables/desks or stuck in sketchbooks as a handy reference aid.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I originally designed this resource during my teacher training year as I noticed students not only struggled to write in full sentences when evaluating their own or peer work, but they also struggled to identify areas of improvement. This document worked really well laminated and available on tables when needed.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you like this resource you might also like my handy sketchbook insert for recording student targets and key words. It also has a useful colour wheel and a reference to the elements of art.
