This lesson is part of a series of lessons based on the Great Famine in Ireland (1845-1850).
It is a drama lesson based on different scenarios from the Great Famine. It consists of a recommendations to do with your class before, during, and after the lesson. It also includes differentiated written exercises for after the lesson.
It is suitable for KS3 or Junior Cycle class groups.

This is a resource about Early Christian Ireland. It is suitable for Junior Cycle History. There is a detailed PPT on the buildings in an early Christian monastery in Ireland, the life of a monk in early Christian, and the artwork created by monks. There is also a list of key words associated with Early Christian Ireland, a test based on the key words, and a class project based on what students have learned.
It can be used in a mixed ability class as there are discussion questions on nearly every slide.
This is suitable for three lesson periods.

This is a class test on the Renaissance. It is suitable for mixed ability History classes for KS3 and Junior Cycle. There are a higher and lower ability test.
It consists of four questions.
Four test questions are: key words for the Renaissance; changes in technology, changes in art; and changes in medicine and science.
Each question has the total marks beside the subtitle for ease of adding up marks.
The end of the test has a calculations box that either the teacher can fill in and calculate themselves, or the students can as a numeracy activity.

This is a menu of 27 different homework or extension tasks. It is suitable for both Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate classes, as well as KS3 and KS4.
The tasks have been separated into ‘mild’, ‘medium’, and ‘hot’ tasks based on ‘literacy’, ‘creativity’ and ‘something else’.
Here are some examples of tasks:
