An active story time activity which is aimed at KS1 pupils. **Instructions: **Inform your pupils that they will be participating in an interactive story reading activity. As you read the story, whenever they hear a specific animal mentioned, they should make the corresponding animal sound. If they wish, they can also act out the animal’s actions for added fun. Included is a short story named: *Rosie’s Animal Friends. * Extra cards are also included that can be cut out and laminated. These can be held up to remind the pupils what sound to make during the story. You can also get pupils to Act It Out. They can also mimic the actions of the animals. For example: Flap your arms like the chickens pecking at the ground.

A great lesson starter to get your students to remember character’s names and themes from the play. Instructions: Cut out the images on the grid sheet and place them inside of a container. Give each player a bingo card. As you draw an image from the container, ask the players to cross them out on their grid sheet. The first player who gets 3 in a row, wins the first round! Continue playing the game until someone gets a full house!
