Starter or HWK piece of text to translate into English and then adapt about own family in Spanish. Would suit Yr7.
Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)
A list of useful vocab for Spanish GCSE students. Could be done as a HWK, test or as a class activity where students go around the class and ask each other for the answers. Each person who gives an answer signs their initials. The idea is to try and get your students to communicate with everyone in the room. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)
Activity I have designed for Yr 7 after teaching them weather keywords. Students put the weather symbols on the map. Then they can trace their own map of France and do their own weather forecast or for HWK get a map from a country in the world and do weather forecast. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback! :-)
Easy test for Yr7 to check understanding and knowledge. Word recognition, translation both ways, reading comprehension and questions, writing exercise. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)
Working on the topic of holidays with my Yr10 and thinking about literary extracts, I have decided to study this piece with my class, do some comprehension as use it as a base to do some writing on my dream holiday. Enjoy…!
Speaking activity with the Sentence Stealer. Adapted resource.
Delayed Translation. Adapted resource (you say the sentence in French, then distract students as you wish for ten seconds, and then ask students to either reproduce the sentence on mini whiteboard or translate from TL into English). Enjoy!
A series of questions to go with a video I found on the internet about Christmas. Here is link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwAnG8k1bC4
Good for Yr 7,8,9 for a bit of culture to put them in the Christmas spirit. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback! :-)
This is a trapdoor activity to get your students to practise their speaking skills. It is played in pairs. Each person chooses an option for each sentence in their head. One starts reading the text and trying to find out the other’s choices. Each time they make a choice, the partner nods or shakes his/her head. If the choice is correct the person continues until they get it wrong. When they get it wrong, the other person has a go. The aim of the game is to finish first. I did this with my Yr10 students and they enjoyed it a lot! Enjoy and don’t forget to feedback!

A reading comprehension activity I designed for my Yr10 about teenagers going abroad on foreign exchange. Vocabulary and questions. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback.
Gap filling exercise which I designed for my Yr9 on the weather (I guess would be suitable for Yr8 top set or Yr10 too). Text has both present/near future weather forecast. I gave each student a different strip and they then go around the class asking each other for some words they haven't got, reading the text in Spanish. It's differentiated so you can give out strips according to your students' ability. The strips get harder and harder. The complete text is on the last strip for the teacher to help if needed. Then, I got students to translate text in English followed by adapting it to write a weather forecast about Spain or another country they like. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)
Here is a Powerpoint presentation I have made with all the answers and some writing titles for 120/180 words tasks.
This is to go with the French GCSE Translation booklet (attached) made by Kloereese on TES.
My classes have found it really useful for revision before exams.
Enjoy!
Gap filling exercise which I designed for my bottom set Yr9 on town. I gave each student a different strip and they then go around the class asking each other for some words they haven't got. The complete text is on the last strip for the teacher. Then, I got students to translate text in English followed by adapting it to write about their city/town. Enjoy and don't forget to feedback :-)
