I am a director of international languages in a high achieving secondary school in Wales and a county languages advisor for the primary sector, embedding the four purposes of the new Curriculum for Wales. I lead a highly successful team in my faculty, offering seven languages. I am a British Council schools ambassador and Confucius champion. I have substantial experience and have just entered my 29th year of international languages teaching. I have taught across the whole of the age and ability range up to and including A2 level. I am a passionate advocate of school improvement, responsible for creating a culture of priority to pupil-centric pedagogy, which ignites curiosity, develops thinking skills and involves the learner at every stage of the planning and evaluation process. I have led ITT development international languages for more than 20 years.
