A ten part series of lessons that focus on many of the elements of the locational knowledge aspects for the KS2 Geography curriculum. The series of lessons focuses predominantly on children being able to use maps to find countries and cities in different continents as well as a brief focus on time zones and globalisation. All of the resources needed to run the lesson are included with worksheets, any potential example maps required (in case atlases are unavailable) the presentation and unit of work plan.
Activities that require children to use known facts to then be able to reason how to solve other calculations. Each page gives children a known fact and then calculations where the numbers have been manipulated and a box where they can explain how to use the known fact to find the answer.
Two PowerPoint's that focus on being able to add and subtract fractions. The first one looks at being able to add and subtract when the denominator is the same, modelling and working through a range of questions. The second PowerPoint then focuses on adding and subtracting when the denominator is different, modelling and working through a range of questions.
Created for 5/6 but could be used for Year 4. The aim is to correctly punctuate celebrities tweets, pre-dominantly looking at capital letters and full stops as well as then looking at commas and semi-colons. Builds in to spelling as well by editing the spellings of certain words for children to then spot.
First two pages are aimed at LA, pages 3 and 4 and for MA with pages 5 and 6 aimed at HA.
Mini Arithmetic tests made for Year 6 children to give them a chance to practise an Arithmetic style paper. These have been made as mini tests with 10 questions on each as a quick opportunity to practise different questions, become used to the grid and to increase their speed through regular practise.
Knowledge organisers for each topic in the Year 5 Science curriculum.
Included within these are images that cover some key concepts as well as a key vocabulary section for some of the words children may come across during the topics.
These are useful for either sticking in books at the start of the topic to refer back to or to enlarge and have on display.
Reading comprehensions related to Pokemon to try and engage children whilst also developing their comprehension skills. Included is a fact file about Pikachu with three differentiated sets of 10 questions with the answers included.
Extracts from the first three Harry Potter books with three sets of differentiated questions attached with each extract. These activities will help children work on a range of comprehension skills using a story many are already aware of and engaged with. Questions range from simple retrieval to commenting on why particular language has been used.
***The extracts used are copyright of the author J.K Rowling.
Reading comprehensions related to football to try and engage children whilst also developing their comprehension skills. Included is a fact file about Cristiano Ronaldo with three differentiated sets of 11 questions with the answers included.
A word mat/ key aspects mat for KS2 children, particularly Year 5 and 6, to help them in writing up scientific investigations. Included are four key sections, getting children to think about what to include in their methodology/ what they're doing, the prediction, results and conclusion. Also included is a section about fair tests and a list of words that may be used and what they require of them e.g. list, compare, analyse.
A knowledge organiser for forces. Included within this is are images that cover some key concepts as well as a key vocabulary section for some of the words children may come across during the topic.
These are useful for either sticking in books at the start of the topic to refer back to or to enlarge and have on display.
A number of worksheets that check children's fluency with adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator or different denominator by getting them to fill in the missing circles to complete the calculation. This includes simple ones as well as adding steps to the calculation process.
Fully planned, differentiated and resourced unit of work looking at instructions. Included are all the slides, planning and resources needed to run each lesson, with 8-10 lessons that focus on key features of instructions and work on different skills before completing their own independent writing. Written for Year 5 but easily adaptable between Year 3 and Year 7.
Independent writing is linked to George's Marvellous Medicines with children creating 'different' types of medicine with a list of possible ingredients also included and an example of how it could be written.
Skills include: Using linking adverbs (time adverbials) and using imperative verbs as well as creating a poppy for remembrance day.
Perfect for back to school - Use these as a fun activity to get to know the children in your class. Each question gets children thinking and can require them to justify their decision. Questions can include set criteria e.g. cleaning the toilet with your toothbrush and then having to use it.
Some are simply silly, fun questions whilst some will offer deep insight into the nature of individuals.
Simply print them out, and either laminate them or cut them out and stick them on card. 116 question cards included.
Whilst they can be used at the start of the year as a fun way to get to know individuals, they can also be used throughout the year. Have a day a week where one is used, getting children to do a straw poll with hands up and then discussing or getting children to write on a whiteboard and a reason why. They could also record them in a notebook to show their thinking.
These can also be taken further by getting children to think of their own, getting them to think about questioning and ensuring that the two topics are related to one another and have a similar level of reward/ punishment with these then becoming discussion points.
Complete set of planning, slides and worksheets for place value x2, the four operations, fractions, algebra, area, perimeter and volume and measurements that provide 69 lessons. This has been written with Year 6 in mind but the resources are easily adaptable for other year groups.

N.B. This bundle will grow as I add more schemes of work but the price will now stay at £20.

Worksheets are differentiated three ways with a mastery aim running throughout. Having used a similar format in my own lessons, these sheets often provide enough challenge for two days lessons, with children taking on the easier work then moving on to harder challenges within the other sheets.
These have all been made with mastery in mind and so follow this pattern.
Worksheet One - Works on practise and fluency (LA)
Worksheet Two - Practise, fluency and reasoning (MA)
Worksheet Three - Practise, fluency, reasoning and problem solving (HA)
Worksheet Four - Same as worksheet three as a spare for anybody who finishes problem solving
Answers are included for each sheet.
