Presentation on the dodo bird, which I used with my class as writing stimulus. Pupils loved learning about the funny-looking bird and its interesting history. Powerpoint contains information on: history, extinction, fun facts and dodos in the media. There is also a word list included with ambitious vocabulary. I used this presentation for: information leaflets, story writing, poems and a tourist brochure on Mauritius.

Used on display, children write captions about any topic. We linked it to Rights Respecting, took photos of children standing to the side and then the speech bubble coming from their mouths.

I have recently won a TES prize for the creative teaching of Shakespeare. Here's what TES said: 'Hannah embraced the challenge of bringing Hamlet, Shakespeare’s longest play, to life in her KS2 classroom by adopting an original, cross-curricular approach. Featuring learning opportunities in and outside of the classroom, learners were fully immersed into this epic tragedy in every subject area and demonstrated their understanding in a variety of ways. From video retellings and word count pie charts to song writing and unique artistic interpretations, her teaching is the perfect example of how Shakespeare can be made accessible to pupils of all ages.'
In this activity pack, there are ideas for 16 lessons and learning journeys. Many subjects are featured, including: Science, Maths, English, D&T, Art and more. The pack is made-up of resources, photos of when I did these activities with my class and planning. One of the 16 above is a cross-curricular learning journey for D&T and took us three weeks to complete - the children loved it! There are 46 pages in total.
This was used with a Y5 class but can easily be adapted to support pupils from Y3 - Y8. The progress that my class made throughout this project was phenomenal!

This presentation contains planning and resources for 2 weeks of cross-curricular teaching on Japan's involvement in the Second World War. I followed this learning journey with my Y6 class and that were enthralled by the story. The presentation teaches children about Japan's involvement. Then asks them to focus on the Atomic Bomb and then more specifically on the story of Sadako Sasaki and the Thousand Peace Cranes - a sad yet inspiring story. Focus genres are timelines and autobiographies, with lots of opportunities to show viewpoint.

Three interesting poems , which highlight contemporary issues. These poems are a great stimulus for English lessons or as topic starters. There is writing paper so that pupils can create a poem in the same style. There are also comprehension questions for each poem.

An interesting and engaging poem on the fear and devastation caused by earthquakes. The 1,2,1,2 rhyming poem gives pupils an insight to the loss that someone may feel. The poem comes with writing paper for pupils to write their own poem about an earthquake and poetry comprehension questions.
78 word flashcards covering all sounds from Phase 3 in Letters and Sounds. Cut out and laminate the sounds and you have a great, durable set of words to complement the teaching of phonics. Each picture has a picture representing the word - great for EAL learners.
These word flashcards can be used for so many things. They can be used in the teaching of phonics but can also be given to pupils to work independently on many different activities. There are 3 words for each sound and the sound is highlighted in green. Also a super resource to aid phonic interventions.
One key element in the teaching of phonics is to revisit previous sounds taught - using these flashcards is a great way to do just that! Lots of games can be played using flashcards, including, 'your pile, my pile'.

A n 12 slide presentation on Halloween. 11 slides can be used for introducing Halloween to pupils or for an exciting assembly and 1 slide has 6 ideas for writing lessons. The presentation is made up of the history of Halloween, information about where Halloween is celebrated , how people celebrate Halloween and includes some fun facts!
This was a great tool that I used with my class. It covers contractions, general punctuation , singular possession , plural possession , was/were and much/many. Pupils are taught about a particular aspect of grammar and then shown the slides on the IWB, which asks them to fix the sentences. Perfect for AFL and ensuring that they understand. The presentation is easy to adapt and you can quickly change the sentences to suit other grammar needs that you may have. There is also a blank activity sheet, which is perfect for typing in and sending home for homework once the pupils are familiar with hoe the game works. Pupils could also use this sheet to write their own incorrect sentences for a partner to fix!
