I have been designing resources for many years as I worked with preschool and primary age youngsters with delayed or impaired speech and language skills. The resources using symbols are free. My latest resources which I have illustrated are extra tasks based on Marion Blank's Language Levels (previous ones have been free). They can be used with groups of mixed language ability and are reasonably priced.

An attempt to make the numbers more visual in their sets plus some 'facts' to talk about. Cuisenaire rods and a track or a long cm ruler are extra aids to show e.g. 4x7 with 4 of 7-rods - where do they reach to? Sets and facts illustrated with PCS or Widgit symbols.

Print 2-up on A4 paper to make into small books, or on A4 card to cut to A5 and keep as separate cards. Traditional tale - A French fairy tale Blondine, Bonne-Biche and Beau-Minon renamed as Blondie, Doe and Looker. A fairy tale retold at three levels: simple plus symbol-support of Widgit/PCS symbols, early reading with illustrations, longer version to read aloud with many opportunities for spoken language tasks. Additional activities: colouring, read / match caption to picture and sequence. This tale is well-suited to PSHE / Virtues Programme work.
