Product Description Find out some of time-tested tips and tricks to improve your results on your next math test or PARCC assessment. You’ll quickly realize there is no reason to have text anxiety when you are mentally prepared for what is to come! This song and music video is unbelievably catchy and will reinforce the strategies that you want your students to think about while taking their next test. Strategies include elimination, reasonableness of the answer, checking with inverse operations, estimating, labeling answers and more! Your students won't forget the chorus to this one any time soon! LYRICS Maintain your highest level of concentration! Follow through each problem with determination! Keep in mind a problem’s never done Until it’s checked with the inverse operation! Carefully read the question that’s written; Deeply consider the choices you’re given. Underline the important information; Drawing pictures can clarify the situation. If it’s multiple choice, use estimation To narrow down the choices through elimination. When you think you’ve found the solution, Check your work with the inverse operation. If you subtracted, check it with addition. If you multiplied, check it with division. See if you get back - back to where you started; If not, try again; and don’t be brokenhearted! When answering a question, always label the unit; is it a length, an area, or is it cubic? And label what each number means: It could represent cupcakes or football teams. Or, if it’s money, label it with a dollar sign: To the left draw an S and a vertical line. UK Age Range: | Year 3 - Year 4 - Year 5 - Year 6 | KS2 Maths

LYRICS We know that there’s 1 minute If we can fit 60 seconds in it. If we could stack minutes and build a tower, There would be 60 minutes in 1 hour. When 12 hours pass, then we’re halfway To 24 hours, which makes a day. And a week is complete in 7 days, But the length of a month is harder to say. They can be 28 to 31 days long; One of them contains the day that you were born on! January, March, May, July, August, October, December: All have 31 days; all have 31 days. April, June, September, and November: All have 30 days; all have 30 days. February has 28 days, but when it’s a leap year, It’s got 29 days; it’s got 29 days. The length of a year is hard to make clear, ‘cause one of every four years is a leap year. The common years happen three in a row They have 365 days, you know. Then a leap year comes with an intercalary, That’s the name of the extra day in February. That’s why leap years have 366 days And why February’s number of days can change. REPEAT CHORUS 10 years is a decade, 100 years is a century, And a millennium’s 1000 of history! LYRICS When rounding to a certain place value, Find the rounding place, then continue to Look at the number to the right; man, you don’t need luck. If the digit’s five or more, then round up. If the digit’s less than five, then round down. That’s how the rounded number is found. When rounding up, the rounding place goes up by one. When rounding down, it stays where it had begun. The numbers to the right of the rounded digit Get changed to zeros; then it’s legit. When you need to find out an approximate amount, Rounding gives you numbers that are easy to count! Here’s a trick to use... to help you choose Where the digit to the right tells you to move. Draw zero to ten on a hill, with five on top. A car drives until it comes to a stop. If it’s five or more, it moves forwards. If it’s one through four, it moves backwards. Forward rounds up; backward rounds down; Just a little trick to help you round! LYRICS Cylinders look like soda cans. They’re the shape of pots and pans. They have two circular bases that are congruent and parallel faces. You see cones in construction zones or when you’re eating ice cream cones. All points of their circular base meet at the same point like a party hat! These are all three-dimensional shapes. They all have a base and take up space. Pyramids are what the ancient Egyptians made; the Mayans and the Aztecs did the same. They’re made with a polygon at the base and triangular faces that meet in one place. Some prisms are rectangular like a room. Some prisms are triangular like a roof. Polygons with edges joining at the vertices make a prism, as you can see! These are all three-dimensional shapes. They all have a base and take up space. There’s one special three-dimensional shape. They’re called spheres, like the planets in outer space. On sphere’s, there’s no base to be found, because every sphere is perfectly round! 3D Shapes Edges Faces and Vertices! Learning about the fundamentals of grouping, place value, and multi-digit multiplication has never been this, laid-back, chill, and easy to understand! Area Model Multiplication Song LYRICS A farmer was planting green beans in fourteen rows of fifteen. The area model is how he thought about the number of plants he got. First, he multiplied ten by ten and wrote one hundred with his pad and pen. Then he multiplied ten by five; there were fifty more plants coming alive. Then ten times four equals forty, and just the bottom corner was empty. So, he multiplied five by four and ended up with twenty more. CHORUS Split up the place values in multiplication. Multiply the tens to get the foundation. Then the other place values get multiplied. Add the partial products up, and check your work twice. VERSE THREE Then the farmer planted black beans in twenty-two rows of fifteen. To find out how many plants he had, he drew the area model on his sketch pad. He did twenty times ten and wrote two hundred down; then ten times two, and twenty’s what he found. Twenty times five was one hundred, and then, five times two equaled ten. He added two hundred, one hundred, twenty, and ten; the sum was three [hundred] thirty; he checked it again. So, there were three hundred thirty black beans in twenty-two rows of fifteen. LYRICS One gallon split into fourths is four quarts. Take that and divide by two and you got a pint. Split that pint up into halves and make a cup, and that cup will fit eight fluid ounces inside of it. One gallon is four quarts (or eight pints, or sixteen cups)! one quart is two pints (or four cups, or thirty-two fl ounces)! One pint is two cups (or sixteen fl ounces) One cup is eight fluid ounces A gallon of milk split in fourths makes four quarts. Split a quart of milk in half; then a pint is what you’ll have, Which can make two cups you see often When you drink your school milk carton. If you can drink the milk in eight sips, Each is about an ounce going through your lips Volume is a word that’s familiar, And capacity and volume are similar; And though it’s easy to assume, Capacity’s not exactly volume. Capacity’s how much something can hold; The amount is always the same. Volume’s the measure of what’s inside, And that amount can change. UK Age Range: | Year 2 - Year 3 - Year 4 | KS1 - KS2 Maths

LYRICS I was running 8 miles away. I had already run 3/4 of the way. To find how far I'd traveled from my front door. I did 8 times 3 and got 24. Then I divided by 4 and I got 6. Six miles I had run in my brand new kicks! Multiplying whole numbers by fractions is awesome. Yea! Well here's a similar problem. We'll not have forgotten. Multiply by the top. Divide by the bottom. Multiply by the top. Divide by the bottom. I was riding to the video game shop. I had ridden 5/6 of 12 city blocks. How far I had gone is what I wanted to find. 12 Times 5 is what I multiplied. I got 60 and then divided by 6. I had ridden 10 blocks and did a cool bike trick. Chorus A girl used repeated addition to see.. if she could use the strategy to solve 1/2 times 3. She thought fast, and then it came like a FLASH! That 1/2 + 1/2 + 1/2 is 3 halves. She converted 3 halves to 1 and a half. She had a crush that would last. It was a crush on MATH! Video Summary Ride along next to Rob as he rides through the country learning about place value. In his journey through a pear orchard he’ll discover that ten ones make ten, ten tens make one hundred, and ten hundreds make one thousand. Then he begins an epic bike ride - 100 miles! Holy Moly! In class the next day, Rob discovers the 1,000s place while playing with his base ten blocks; he's so excited that knocks over his tower of blocks, jumps on top of the rubble, and plays an EPIC air bass line! By the end of the video, he'll find that even after the thousands place, the place value pattern he has discovered has no end; a truth that casts him into a state of quiet contemplation as he chomps on a pear. Song Covers 1s 10s 100s 1000s 10,000s and 100,000s LYRICS Picking pears, I got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9; that’s all that fit inside the ones place value line. So I picked another pear and made a group of ten. They fit into a bag perfectly even. 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90: I had to keep picking pears - a hunger I had to feed - so I picked another ten and that led to one group of one hundred. (A pear bonked me on the head and I said...) CHORUS: Ten ones make ten. Ten groups of ten are one hundred. Ten hundreds make one thousand; the pattern never ends. I rode my bike one whole mile, then 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and in a little while, another mile made one group of ten. A little voice inside my head said, “Keep going I know you can!” 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90: I never knew I had so many miles inside me! The end of my trip was coming up ahead; I rode ten more miles and reached one hundred. (Then that little voice inside my head said...) After the bell rang at eight o’clock, I started playing with my base ten blocks. I stacked up nine and then one more made ten, and then ten tens equaled one hundred. 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900: another hundred wouldn’t fit in the hundred’s space... I had to write one group in the thousands place! (And then I played the air bass.) Ten groups of one thousand equal ten thousand. Ten ten thousands make one hundred thousand. And ten of those make one million, and the pattern has no end. * UK Age Range: | Year 2 - Year 3 - Year 4 | KS1 - KS2 Maths

You're student(s) are going to love learning about fractions as we eat pies, see birds in the skies, and even win an Olympic prize! Three new NUMBEROCK characters come to life in this informative and easy to understand introduction to fractions. The numerator and denominator are shown in 3 real-world examples before introducing to students the idea of fractions on a number line, all the while reinforcing that fractions are equal parts of a whole. Lyrics There were five pieces in one whole pie; the denominator of the whole pie was five. The numerator of my part was three, as three fifths of the pie was for me. My mom made the apple pie out of Granny Smiths. She asked me if I liked it. I said, "I plead the fifth..." The numerator's the part, the denominator's the whole, and fractions are parts of a whole. Three birds were on a telephone pole. The denominator, three, was the group as a whole. The numerator, two, out of the thirds, described the two thirds that were blue birds. The numerator, two, described how many were blue. Then something fell on my head... it was bird poo! I took four shots on the goal; three went in, but one hit the pole. The denominator was all four shots. The numerator was the three goals I'd got. The other team's record had taken a toll; I'd got three fourths of my shots and won Olympic Gold. A number line has every fraction between zero and one. Right in the middle is one half; one fourth is half of that. A fraction's parts, you realize, have to be the same size. Hey, we're late for the game! Hate to leave you, guys! * UK Age Range: | Year 2 - Year 3 - Year 4 | KS1 - KS2 Maths

Area & Perimeter Song Lyrics How many chairs can we fit here ‘til we can fit no more? Count with me, “one, two, three, four”: the perimeter is four. How many tables are there in this cafeteria? There’s only one table in this cafeteria. One square is the area; one times one is the area. How many chairs can we fit here to set the table for dinner? One, two, three, four, five, six chairs: that’s the perimeter. How many tables are there in this cafeteria? One, two tables in the cafeteria: two squares is the area; one times two is the area. How many chairs can we fit here so there’s one for every plate? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight: the perimeter is eight. How many tables are there in this cafeteria? One, two, three tables in the cafeteria: three squares is the area; one times three is the area. UK Age Range: | Year 4 - Year 5 | KS2 Maths
