I have created a selection of resources and displays, the majority are for Maths or Classroom displays but I also have some topical items in there or English resources
I have created a selection of resources and displays, the majority are for Maths or Classroom displays but I also have some topical items in there or English resources
I am currently leading a sign language club in my school and have created the first lesson so students get an introduction to sign language, can introduce themselves and say where they live.
This is a free resources and I have used images from british-sign.co.uk which is a great place to look at for any other signs you need, I'll add the others as I make them
I am just sharing this in case it helps anyone for form time or PSHE, it is not all my own work as I started with this resource https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/children-s-mental-health-week-2018-11825013 and edited it so it was more like what I wanted to include so I would like to thank sarahp84 for the original
This is a full lesson resource based on an 80 min lesson but could be changed based on your class. It has an ordering decimal starter followed by the learning objective slide. The main starter is a rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 practice questions. This is followed by examples of rounding and a slide with notes and examples to be written into books. There are some differentiated questions and a qwizdom activity, the qwizdom could be done on whiteboards if you don't have the remotes in your school. The plenary is an exit ticket, there is a word document to print these out.
My lessons are based on 80 minutes but could be altered to suit the length of your classes. It has a settling starter, learning objectives slide, a main starter, examples of the activity with notes to be copied into books, differentiated questions, an extra practice activity and a plenary
These are the activities I have chosen for this lesson:
Starter – Subtraction practice
Settling starter – Match up angle types
Extra practice activity – Treasure hunt
Plenary – Exit ticket
All my lessons are set up in a similar way to allow consistency when teaching. They are also all graded based on the new 1 – 9 grading system. Please leave feedback and if you find anything that needs to be changed let me know and I will inform you when it has been done so you can download the latest version.
Thank you please take a look at some of my other lessons
This is a full lesson based on 80 mins but you could alter it for your own lessons. It starts with a finding the perimeter activity which they should be able to do and will need for when you move onto the extra practice qwizdom. There is then a learning objectives slide followed by a match up activity which looks at the language of algebra and how to express information. This is followed by examples that get slowly more difficult before moving onto a notes slide that they can copy into books. There are then some differentiated questions to try. The extra practice activity is a multiple choice qwizdom that links perimeter of shapes with simplifying algebra as this is often seen in exam questions. The plenary is an exit ticket, there is a word document so you can just print those off.
This is a maths Vegas style activity for angles. All the instructions are on the first 2 pages of the PowerPoint. It covers angles around a point, on a straight line, opposite angles and angles in a triangle .
This is lesson 2 of the sign language club resources the pictures are not my own but I have put it together to use in our club so thought it may be of use to someone else
This is a full lesson based on 80 mins but could easily be altered to suit your class. It starts with a multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 settling starter followed by the objective slides. The main starter to the lesson gets students to think back the the previous lesson and remember what metric units they know. There are then examples of the conversions with notes to write in books. There is a selection of differentiated questions to complete with answers. The extra practice activity is a treasure hunt task. The plenary is an exit ticket which is in a word document so it can just be printed off to stick in books at the end of the lesson
This is a full lesson that introduces ratio with a focus on drawing them using a bar model. It compares different representations and goes onto representing sentences as a ratio and bar model
This is a full lesson with a progress ladder starter, going through whiteboard work and back to the progress ladder to assess progress. There are then some further questions and a more difficult thinking hard question towards the end.
