During food studies lessons, there can be plenty of waste as some students prefer not to take opened ingredients home. Display this poster and place a tray below for students to leave their newly opened ingredients. Other than reducing waste, it also gives the school extra resources to aid students/families that can not afford to take part in these practicals lessons due to financial issues (Pupil Premium).

This resource is the perfect solution for those of you looking for an easy way to divide your class into groups, with less fuss and more student engagement. Ideal for reading groups, class games, teams, carousels etc. This can be used to assign the cards to each student or you can allow students to select their own card blindly, to allow for groups to be selected at random and gives students the opportunity to work with different people. This resource is designed with 7 groups and 4 students per group. It is easy to remove cards to make the groups smaller when needed. There are enough cards for 28 students, ensuring each student feels included and valued in any group activity. The cards are simple to cut and laminate for durability.

The information focuses on what foods to find each vitamin/mineral, what their function is inside the body, what happens if you have too much or too little, are they an antioxidant and if they are water/fat soluable. This is a fantastic resource for KS 4 and KS 5 students, but it can be used for KS 3 as the stimulus for a game/group activity too. This resource is intended to aid your GCSE students prepare for their upcoming exam in June 2024. There is 1 question a day on this calendar from March - June, covering the spectrum of all the topics from the AQA spec. Students can do this task at home as an extra revision resource or you can use these questions as an activity in class. Recommendations: Ask students to write the questions on flash cards & the answers on the back of each flash card. You can punch a hole through them and group the cards together to make a flip booklet which has been successful with students in the past.
