This is a short assessment that I use that the beginning and end of the unit to assess students progress.

This is a fantastic lesson that has been created for my impossible places unit. The lesson starts by looking at the Burj Kahalifa, followed by objectives. Then students locate Dubai, look at what it is like to day using video, and then the lesson focuses on Dubai’s buildings and man-made islands. The lesson ends with a plenary.

This is a lesson that has been created for a unit titled ‘Impossible places’ and it is by far the favourite for my students. The lesson looks at the Chernobyl disaster and when we can next live there. It starts by showing a photograph of the fairground that never got used which I mainly use for questioning. After students have written their objectives, they then work in groups to answer the question sheet using the resources. Students then watch some video clips which sum up the lesson. (If there is time I also show them the top gear clip too). The lesson ends with a plenary. A fantastic lesson which is always thoroughly enjoyed.

This is the third lesson that I have created for a unit titled: Who are the Masai Mara. The lesson starts with a short starter followed by objectives. The students then locate the Masai Mara tribe and learn some quick facts about them. The students then ‘go on a safari tour’ collecting facts to answer their worksheets. Following this carousel activity are a few short videos. The lesson ends with a plenary. Students loved this lesson!

This is a lesson that I have created for a unit titled ‘Impossible places’. The lesson looks at Antarctica primarily looking at it’s location, climate and animals. The lesson begins with an odd one out activity followed by objectives. The students locate Antarctica and create a table outlining the difference between the Arctic and Antarctic. Students then complete an animal fact file for some of the animals found in Antarctica. (sometimes I place teddy bears around the room with each sheet at treat it like an expedition!) This activity comes with differentiated work sheets. The lesson ends by looking at a short video and a short plenary. A great lesson that students can really get their teeth into!

This is a lesson that I have created for a unit titled ‘Impossible places’. The lesson starts with allowing students to guess what the lesson is about through various clues followed by objectives. The students then locate Las Vegas and outline some of its key features. The lesson is then divided in to two sections, physical and human causes for Las Vegas’ water shortage involving some climate graph work. A very enjoyable lesson to teach!

This is the 9th lesson (and last!) that I have created for the coasts section of Theme 1 for the Geography WJEC a 9-1 Specification. The lesson begins with a starter activity which asks students to name 4 types of hard engineering. The lesson then continues to identify the difference between hard engineering and soft engineering, followed by detailing notes on each type of management using you tube video's (links can be found in the power point) The lesson ends with a plenary.

This is the 8th lesson that I have created for the coasts section of Theme 1 for the Geography WJEC a 9-1 Specification. The lesson begins with an interactive starter and then continues to walk through the basic's of the Happisburgh case study. The lesson ends with a plenary.

This is the 7th lesson that I have created for the coasts section of Theme 1 for the Geography WJEC a 9-1 Specification. This lesson starts with an engaging starter activity and then continues to loos at how weather and geology can affect the rate of coastal erosion, and ends with a plenary. The lesson will need the worksheet attached- and if there is time I normally give students the exam question (attached to the model answer) and then show them the model answer.

This is the 6th lesson that I have created for the coasts section of Theme 1 for the Geography WJEC a 9-1 Specification. This is a fantastic lesson which starts with re-capping last lesson (lesson 5- unconsolidated rocks) followed by a fully resourced carousel looking at Long shore drift, Spits, Bars, Sand dunes and Tombolo's. I sometimes get students to model these with play doh! too. The lesson ends with looking at these types of land forms for real along the British coast and an interactive plenary. This is the 5th lesson that I have created for the coasts section of Theme 1 for the Geography WJEC a 9-1 Specification. The lesson starts with an interactive starter that gets students to recap on there past lessons. It then has 3 different activities to allow students to learn about the creation of wave cut platforms, Caves, arches, stacks and stumps, as well as headlands and bays. The lesson ends with a plenary. All resources for this lesson can be found in the power point, apart from the two sets of homework.

This is lesson 4 of coasts (Theme 1) for the WJEC Geography A 9-1 specification. The lesson starts with 10 questions for students to answer (I did printed the resources and got students to do it in pairs). Then the lesson explains the differences between consolidated and unconsolidated rock types, followed by an experiment for students to complete. You will need a a few rocks for students to test them for strength etc. I managed to get mine from the science department. The lesson ends with an exciting plenary.

This is lesson three of coasts (Theme 1) for the WJEC A Geography 9-1 specification. The lesson is fully resourced with a starter activity, followed by a description of the 3 main types of weathering and an accompanying worksheet (included in the power point). Then the lesson looks at the 3 types of mass movement with descriptions, pictures and short videos (you tube links in the PP). The lesson ends with a short enquiry task.

This is lesson two of coasts for the WJEC A Geography 9-1 specification. A great lesson full of activities for students to learn the different types of waves, what causes tides and the four types of erosion. Resources for this lesson are in the power point too.

This is the first lesson of the coasts section of Theme 1 of the WJEC A Geography 9-1 specification. The lesson looks at what a coast is, different uses for a coast and touches on types of waves. A great introduction to the coasts unit!

This is a another lesson for theme 1 of the WJEC A Geography 9-1 specification. The lesson looks at both hard engineering and soft engineering techniques used to manage the river Severn. The lesson involves two 60 second guides full of information which can also be found online and i do not own. I hope the lessons goes as well as it did for me!
