Crowd and collective behaviour
The lesson goes through the social and dispositional factors in relation to crowd and collective behaviour. Desgined for high ability Y9 GCSE psychology students following the AQA new specification. Students will need internet access to find their locus of control (could be done as HW). The lesson ends with watching the film "suffragette" and creating a newspaper article.
Approx - 90 min worth of lesson.

Content goes above and beyond the textbook, so really good for stretch and challenge. Can be used in class, as revision or flipped learning.

Lesson goes through the key concepts of SLT. Including modelling, observation, imitation, vicarious reinforcement and identification (ARRM). Quick ABCD quiz. Agony aunt application question and highlight strengths and weaknesses of SLT.
AQA GCSE New spec: Social Influence - prosocial behaviour
Social and Dispositional factors influencing prosocial behaviour, Piliavin's study. Application to Kitty Genovese. Approx 3 lessons. Application activity asking students to state what they think would happen - using their knowledge of factors. Also includes student tracker for the rest of the social influence lessons.
AQA Psychology - Attachment: Infant caregiver interaction
Y12 or Y13 revision. First lesson into attachment. Lesson looks at the differences between reciprocity and interactional synchrony with evaluation exercise.
AQA Psychology

Lesson 2: Introduces students to the nature of experimental methods, then students complete a carousel activity on the different types of experiments (Lab, field, natural).
AQA GCSE New spec: Social Influence Obedience
Approx 3 lessons. Goes through the social and dispositional factors that influence obedience. Linking to Milgram's study. Crossword activity can be used as homework.
AQA GCSE Psychology non experimental research methods observation
AQA Psychology, GCSE (new spec) - Lesson goes through types of observations, overt and covert, participant and non-participant, as well as categories of behaviour and establishing inter-observer reliability. Application to video clip - secret life of 5 year olds. Option for students to research famous observational studies if you have access to computers, or could be set as homework. My GCSE students enjoyed this lesson. This lesson can also be used to revise A-Level (just need to add event and time sampling).
Approx 60-100 min.
AQA Psychology - Attachment: Animal Studies
Lesson 3: Lesson looks into Lorenz's research into geese and imprinting and Harlow's research into deprivation and contact comfort. Evaluation activity with teacher answers and mini-whiteboard plenary to check progress.
Sign test and Chi-Square
Created as a revision lesson for Y12 and Y13 psychology students studying the AQA psychology specification. It goes through the importance of statistical testing, type 1 and type 2 errors, levels of measurement, before going through the sign test and chi -square. The sign test is delivered using a chocolate experiment but this can be tweaked and your own results entered.
Use the powerpoint along with a booklet to allow students to make notes and answer exam style questions. It comes with a lesson plan as it was for an observation.
Price reflects the time and effort that went into making this.

Lesson 2 -Lesson introduces MSM and features (capacity/duration) with mini experiment. Murdock's serial position effect study - students read and answer comprehension questions - challenge sheet for high ability students. Application questions to test knowledge and dominoes for plenary (if your students have completed the memory topic).
Prosocial behaviour AQA GCSE psychology
Created for new specification AQA psychology. Lesson goes through the social and dispositional factors influencing prosocial behaviour and bystander intervention. Application activity for students to apply their knowledge to scenarios. Students can then write a report on the murder of kitty Genovese addressing the factors covered.
*One activity requires the Old gcse psychology textbook but this can be missed.
Approx - 60 min lesson.
Although planning and writing the newspaper article could also be another 60 min.

A lot of content is typed either on ppt or worksheets because of a lack of textbooks with 3yr GCSE. Lessons include starter activities, assessment opportunities and video clips. My students loved this unit and enjoyed watching suffragette at the end and applying their knowledge to social change (link to film included in notes on ppt). Ideal for non-specialists and specialists, a range of activities and worksheets ready made. Ive also included the word docs used to make and display the students newspaper articles. Approx 15h worth of lesson material.
