A powerpoint ideal for the introduction of a Stone Age topic in conjunction with the book Stone Age boy - it get the children to ask questions through the text on what could be going and what more they want to find out about for this time period - Ideal for years 3 and 4 however could be adapted to years 2 or 5 - I did this for a half term but next term will strech this topic out for a full term - would also work for mixed age teaching ! A Stone Age writing to describe lesson; to describe what they see, smell etc through the senses using a picture prompt to help them enclosed in the powerpoint - I then gave each child a picture of this to stick into their books we planned and talked through it using the template idea here and they with the example put this together - The class of year 3 then year 4 really enjoyed it and we got some great writing from this creative writing session- any queries etc do ask !!

There`s a Pharoah in our bath themed lesson 1 - ask it game style lesson ideal for an introduction to the text and topic of Ancient Egypt - easily accessible and a fantastic resource for anyone new to this book ! Do look at my other resources on this as this is great short book but will do for a half term or beyond !

A bundle of resources ideal for both the Stone Age Boy book and Cave Boy book and Stone Age topic in general This is includes reading and writing (English and guided reading) resources, differentiated resources and whole lessons via the powerpoints here in addition to levelled comprehensions ideal for years 3 and 4 as I have taught - can be easily adapted to suit your classes !! This also includes 3 big write stand alone lessons with examples and information which would easily see you a half term or more ! There is also a few other bits I have edited for other DT Geog based or topic based within this. Sword in the stone reading and writing comprehension ideal for KS2 particulary mixed aged class ( mine!) this activity/lesson went really well to improve reading skills ! Different children read different parts then we discussed key words and phrases - then all of the children completed the attached activties within this Powerpoint identifying word classes intially to improve SPAG skills then developing their reading comprehensive skills with some inference also - Headteacher walked in mid lesson and really liked what she saw ! I hope this helps as a stand alone reading activity or English lesson !

The Iron man newspaper report lesson with attached resources and information through this Powerpoint - The children found it very helpful in conjunction with the class text of The Iron Man by Ted Hughes - really great report writing was completed particulary by year 4 with regard to this - Enjoy !!
