A lesson devised for top sets that breaks down the new AQA marking criteria and explores what is meant by 'precise', 'critical' and 'judicious'. It also breaks down the AOs into manageable chunks and provides examples of analysis from different parts of the play. The lesson then moves onto The Witches' Spell and it's use of Trochaic Tetrameter; it also includes a sample answer for students level and grade with the marking criteria.

A lot students struggle with understanding what the writer's opinions and attitudes are; this lesson helps to guide them through the question with a starter, broken down examples, grid activity, example answer and clear links to the new marking criteria. PLEASE NOTE: The source material for this is based on the AQA Key Stage 3 Test Pack (Year 7 Pack 1 Paper 2 - Amber and the Watercress girl). This is easily available on the E-AQA website, hence why it's not included here. This is very well suited to middle - lower ability GCSE students.
