In this scavenger hunt students will use trigonometric functions to determine missing side lengths or unknown angles. Students will use sine, cosine, tangent and their inverses. Students can start at any poster, solve the problem, and find the answer on another poster. If done correctly they will end up back where they started. This is a straightforward activity involving a problem situation and a pool. Students are given information about the specification about a pool and must come up with the piecewise function, create a table, and graph the information. This is a great way to represent the information in multiple modes and demonstrate a real world example of the importance of piecewise functions. This assignment could be done as a class for instruction or indpendently as a grade or practice. We have completed this lesson in our own classes with great success!

We've made a trigonometry version of our beloved relay race! In the trigonometry relay race, students are required to use knowledge of: - sine, cosine, tangent - inverse to determine angles - converting degrees to radians and radians to degrees - the unit circle - finding unknown sides using trig functions - exact values of common angles - relationships between sine, cosine and tangent Now with an answer key and equation bank! Our students always love the relay race and is our favorite review for students.

This activity is all about matching a data set to its 5 number summary and box-and-whiskers plot. Students are given 7 sets of data and have to find the 5 number summary and plot that match it. Matching is a great way to have students analyze a bunch of data at one time and look for similarities and differences. Our students love all matching activities we do and as teachers we feel they get a great deal out of doing them!

This class project is sure to be a hit with any and all of your students! This bundle includes 3 projects in one. All the projects relate around the same idea. Students have been hired as consultants for the Baltimore Ravens, Real Madrid or Monsters University to solve some problems. Students must use the provided data to create a linear regression (line of best fit, least squares equation) in order to determine a correlation coefficient. Afterwards, students identify residuals for each piece of data. After collecting all the necessary information, students are led through questions related to the organization. When I did this in class I gave all three projects and let them choose. The choices were mixed and the students loved that they were able to individualize the days lesson depending on their interests. After students were finished each group received a reporting form. This is the form the "consultants" would hand their employer to summarize their findings. This was absolutely a hit in our class! If you don't want all three I will put each project up individually. Students are required to use knowledge of vertex, absolute minimum/maximum, intervals of increase/decrease, domain and range. Students are given a sheet with 9 questions. Each question has characteristics of a quadratic function graph. Students will search the posters to find the graph that matches all the characteristics on their paper. Students will then write the poster letter on their paper.

Each station asks them to solve different types of equations where the variables are on both sides. This review is for exponential functions. Just like everyone else our new common core curriculum has changed things around. This review takes exponents a step further than the other one we've posted. The review includes multiplying exponents, dividing exponents, power of zero negative exponents, translations, rational and radical form and reflections of exponential functions. . A power point slide with directions on how to play the relay race game is attached. These directions are very common but you can play in whatever way you'd like. Also attached are questions to cut out and an answer sheet for each student.

This great activity is a self-checking loop of problems. This set is all to do with finding specific of cosine and sine of a given angle . Students choose to start with any question they'd like, determine the answer, and look for it around the room. Once they find the answer, they complete the question on that specific page. The questions are in a big loop so when the student returns back to their original page, they are finished. This is a fantastic way to have a self-checking review. Students know immediately if they did something wrong with their calculations. It also allows students to spread out and work at their own pace. Note: The answers specifically leave out the angles as to not give students the answers as they move around from problem to problem.

This scavenger hunt has students practicing adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. All answers are in fraction form. Students can start at whatever poster they want and work around to find the next answer. The whole activity is one giant loop, therefore, they will end up back where they started. Our scavenger hunts are a great way to get students practicing and self-checking. Students get the automatic feedback they need by either finding their answer was correct or not finding their answer on a poster and thus knowing they need to resolve.
