Activities for students to do after watching the film. There are two reviews of the film, edited together from a number of authentic reviews. These are followed by comprehension questions in German, and two writing tasks.
(i) A definition of Carsharing followed by a discussion and diamond nine ideas-sort (ii) A variety of statements for and against Carsharing, followed by a comprehension activity, a speaking task, and an AS-style writing task.
(i) A link to the ad (ii) As faithful a transcript of the TV ad as I can get onto a sheet of A4, with some stage directions, plus a sequence of activities. (iii) a story board activity (iv) a PPT with stills from the film, to which students should supply their own text and (v) an exploded version of the dialogue for the students to reconstruct. I've added in a couple of additonial speech bubbles to pack it out a bit.
I showed my KS4 classes the Til Schweiger film KOKOWÄÄH and they loved it. Some of the scenes are very accessible in terms of the language level, so I transcribed one of the scenes and added some activities. You'll need a copy of the film, though.

Challenging text based partly on an article about a hotel in Holland that claims to be the worst hotel in the world and partly on real complaints about hotels found on TripAdvisor. (The first paragraph contains an unpleasant, but true, reference to dog faeces, so may not suit all tastes and classes!) The text is followed by, some grammar, comprehension questions in English, a 'find the phrase' exercise, a manipulation exercise, a translation into English, a bit more grammar (weil and obwohl), a speaking task and a writing task.
A sequence of activities to help students describe their phone: (i) an adjective sorting activity (ii) selct adjectives for an advertising campaign (iii) a bit of grammar (iv) some useful phrases.
Two resources for able KS4 students. The first is a vocab match-up activity to introduce students to some key vocab relating to Global Problems. The second is a text relating to Global Problems, followed by a True / False / Not in Text activity, a sentence building activity using a toolkit to help students quantify their levels of concern, plus some questions for students to answer about what should or should not be done in order to improve things. (The text is watered down from a text I originally wrote for Lernpunkt Deutsch.)
Powerpoint for practising places in a town. Each slide has a severely cropped image of a place in a town. Students have to say what they think it is. The following slide reveals the full image, and a further click will reveal the relevant French word.
Powerpoint with images of celebrities, designed to stimulate speculation, and possibly even debate, about what they have in their bedroom. The second version of the Powerpoint leads in with an introduction to / revision of the use of adjectives in French and provides support for the descriptions.
TOOLKIT to help students generate sentences starting with an adverb, adverbial phrase, or subordinate clause, and continuing with the Perfect Tense of a selection of common 'Holiday' verbs..
Two GCSE type questions relating to a synopsis of the film 'Into the White', which features Rupert Grint (of Harry Potter fame). The film is based on the true story of German and British air crews having to co-operate to survive, having both crashed in the Norwegian mountains during WW2. In one version, the synopsis is followed by questions in English. In the other, the text is followed by True / False / Not in Text questions.
A sequence of activities relating to the film NORDWAND. (i) Questions in English about the beginning of the film. (ii) Multichoice questions in German about the beginning of the film. (iii) a match-up exercise (iv) a gap-fill (v) an activity in which students must put the main events of the film into the correct order and (vi) a storyboard exercise. NB exercises iii and iv are adapted from an activity uploaded elswhere on the TES by brettl. The second file contains a more challenging re-sequencing activity for more able students.
