Roman Numerals Tarsia Puzzle

A selection of Roman numerals up to MD - 1500 22 puzzle pieces. Each piece of the puzzle has a question and/or answer on it. Matching the pieces together correctly, answers to questions are revealed. Each triangular piece fits into another, creating the perfect shape as shown on the picture template. Print out the puzzle sheet two times. Stick one sheet on to thin cardboard. Carefully cut out each of the individual pieces. Use the second printout as an answer sheet. Use a bulldog clip to bundle the pieces together safely and securely, when you are not using them. A blank template is included so you can see what the finished shape looks like. A master sheet of the Roman Numerals used is also included.

Microsoft Excel, dice and counters required A new set of questions every time the file is opened 3 separate games: 2, 5 and 10 TIMES TABLE The playing board consists of 2x A4 landscape pieces of paper (join them together) for a total of 74 playing squares Enlarge to A3 for best results, stick onto card and laminate Roll the dice, move the required number of squares and if the answer is correct, remain on that square until the next go If the answer is incorrect, go back to the nearest Waiting Square Land on a Yellow square and if the answer is correct, move forward 2 spaces Land on a Green square and have another throw Land on a Collect a Life Card square (cards provided choice of b&w or colour) and use this card to stay on the square if the answer is wrong Be the first to reach the finish to be declared the winner A fun and stimulating resource to practice and remember times table skills REMEMBER - REGULAR REVISION REALLY REGISTERS

Microsoft Excel required Addition practice – single and double digit Interactive A new set of random numbers every time the file is executed METHOD - Open the “cricket.xlsx” file Type in the team name in the rectangle at the top of the sheet Type in the players names Print the sheet and photocopy as necessary Each player faces twenty balls and remains at the strikers end Add up the totals for each player and write the answer in the TOTAL column BONUS – If the total is more than 60 runs, the player receives an extra 20 runs. Add up the BONUSES and EXTRAS and add these to the Grand Total Follow the method above for the opposing team. VARIATIONS – You could for example, award bonus runs for hitting a certain number of 6’s This worksheet allows the pupils to suggest their own BONUS awards and also to suggest the list of players names This activity also works well on the IWB HOWZAT!
