This lesson was originally a two part lesson forYear 7 students to make a model or 3D picture of the Harimandir Sahib (The Golden Temple of Amritsar). It includes a worksheet about how to be a good team worker as well as full instructions for the task. Students loved creating these models and it taught them teamwork skills and information about the Golden Temple. It is suitable for pupils from KS2-KS4 (Aged 7-16).
This lesson was originally a Yr 9 90 minute lesson but can be any KS3 or KS4 (Ages 11-16) lesson and shortened very easily. It goes through the six main religious beliefs about God and then an introduction to atheism and humanism. It includes a video clip, discussion and written activities, definitions, a quiz and a plenary. Students reacted very well to this lesson and it taught them that you don’t have to have religious beliefs to be a good person.
This bundle includes 5 full lessons covering an introduction to Sikhism, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Rastafarianism. They include written, discussion, thinking activities with video clips and extension tasks. These were originally for KS3 introductory lessons but can be used for KS4 or KS5 compulsory RE. They can also be used for Citizenship or to contribute to a unit on skills, culture, religion, moral values etc.
This is a 500 word Intent statement for the new RSE & Health Curriculum but can also be used for a more general PSHE and Citizenship statement. This was originally a 60 minute Year 10 lesson to introduce the world of work and preparing for job interviews. It covers body language, dress, how to give a good impression at an interview, body language and some suggested careers. There is a worksheet to accompany it with this lesson but it can be used without it. This lesson is suitable for older KS3-KS4 pupils (13-18 years old) and as part of their PSHE, Careers or Work Experience session in a tutor time. It can be easily shortened or lengthened and has worked well with my students.
This handout has two Guru Nanak miracle stories on so they can be read as a class, complete a role play or storyboard about the events. This is suitable for KS2, KS3 and KS4 (Ages 7-16) to widen their knowledge about Sikhism and introduce stories about the first Guru.
This is a KS3, KS4 or KS5 lesson (ages 11-18) focusing on Rastafarianism. It explores the different practices e.g. ital food, dreadlocks, reasoning sessions. It also shows how rastafarianism began and how it developed and is practiced today. There are some video clips, discussion activites, creative activities and written tasks. This is a worksheet that can be used as part of a lesson about how Martin Luther King was inspired by Jesus’ teachings from the Bible. It focuses on 4 key Bible verses and asks pupils to explain how Martin Luther King Jr acted on those Biblical teachings. This is a 60 minute lesson on religious symbols which goes through each of the major 6 religious symbols for pupils to explore, copy down, colour and learn about. This is a 60-90 minute lesson introducing Christianity. It explores the central beliefs and teachings, practices and symbols of this religion. It can be used for KS3 or KS4 (Aged 11-16) to give students a better understanding of the religion. It includes video clips, discussion tasks, written tasks and a quiz to check learning. It is simple to edit if you require a shorter or longer lesson.

It can be used for pupils to cut out, match up and stick in their books, can be printed on card to become a reusable match up starter activity or it can be used for display or creative work purposes. This has twenty presentations which can be used as assemblies, tutor time sessions or lengthened for a PSHE or Citizenship lesson. They are 15 minutes in length and contain videos, visual cues and discussion activities.
This is a 15 minute assembly, PSHE, tutor time session which covers what terrorism is, what the opinions of young people are about terrorism and focuses on what to do in a terrorist attack. It mentions the Prevent Strategy and has discussion questions and no written tasks. This was originally taught to Year 10 (14-15 year olds) and students reacted well to this presentation. It gives them advice, further information and support and helplines if they need further guidance. This is suitable for KS3, KS4 and KS5 students (Ages 11-18, Years 7-13, Grade 6-12) but it should be noted that this content should be discussed sensitively with students. There are two downloaded video clips which will never disappear.
This could be shortened or lengthened according to the session and it can be used for tutor time, assembly, PSHE, Citizenship or British Values lesson or an informative look at what students should do in a terrorist attack as a whole school message.
Students reacted very well to this session and lots of interesting discussions came from it.
