Each day focuses on a different skill: Monday - text type, prediction and summarising; Tuesday - vocabulary and grammar; Wednesday - retrieval; Thursday - inference and Friday is then a combination of all skills. Teaching guided reading this way is proven to up rates of progress and achievement by 40% and it has had a huge impact on my year 6 results already!
