This product is geared toward Years 1, 2 and 3 to improve fluency by reading in different voices. This activity forces students to focus on intonation and creativity. For speedy, monotoned readers, this activity forces them to slow down and use a different kind of voice.
Some cards prompt students to read like they're underwater (students would plug their noses and read) or read like they're a monkey or read like they're a teacher . . . to name a few.
In this product, you will find 3 versions of fluency cards and 2 versions of fluency spinners. Some in black and white and some in colour. Click the Preview for a closer look.
The spinners are available in large and small versions. The small spinners would work great for placing in Interactive Notebooks.

This Initial Sounds Center is a perfect center for any Reception or Year 1 classroom! At the center, students clip the letter on the clothes pin to the picture with the matching beginning sound.
The beginning sounds sheets are included in colour and black & white.
To organise this center, I print each letter chart with a different coloured background and then laminate. Using a different coloured marker for each clothes pin set, I write lower case letters from a to z. Each set is put in a plastic ziploc baggie. I use different coloured markers for each set of clothes pins so that students do not mix up their clothes pins.
The pictures for initial sounds are as follows:
a - astronaut
b - boat
c - car
d - duck
e - elf
f - flower
g - guitar
h - helicopter
i - iguana
j - jar
k - kite
l - lamp
m - money
n - necklace
o - otter
p - pig
q - queen
r - rocket
s - sun
t - tape
u - umbrella
v - vegetables
w - window
x - x-ray
y - yarn
