HARRY POTTER STORY DICE TO CREATE YOUR VERY OWN STORY! 3D Cube Nets Dice to Roll, FUN English Game. These are brilliant, especially if a student is struggling to think of his/her own ideas for a Harry Potter themed story… They simply have to roll the five dice at once! Dice One will give them their characters Hogwarts House: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and 2 x ‘Choose Your Own’ Squares. Dice Two will give them a main setting out of: Hogswarts, Hogsmeade, Privet Drive, Quidditch Pitch, Forbidden Forest or Azkaban Prison. Dice Three will give them their main character out of: Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Luna or Neville. Dice Four will give them their main bad character out of: Draco, Lucious, Voldemort, Snape, Filch or Dolores. Dice Five will give them their main problem out of: An attack from: A Snake, a 3 Headed Dog, A Dragon, A Troll, The Whomping Willow or Hundreds of Spiders. Dice Six is a blank cube template for students to create their own characters, settings or problems… but they could also create dice for things like solutions, villains and endings etc. This is a FANTASTIC CREATIVE WRITING task that my students loved and I used in an outstanding Ofsted observed lesson. Please check my other items, I have other English dice themed activities.

Alphabet Letters Laminated Mats, Letter A - E Playdough, writing, reading EYFS, Early Years KS1 NEW I have attached the alphabet mat for the letter A - E. Students have 6 different tasks to complete for each letter as follows: Trace the dotted letters with a pencil carefully. Create the letters using playdough (if not using playdoug they can colour instead). Find the upper and lower case versions of the letter. Colour in the images that begin with this letter. Read the words to another pupil / adult who then ticks the words. Finally, they must write the upper and lower case versions of the letter to complete the story! This is a great resource that keeps the children engaged for a long time. Once they finish they can get the next letter (I will be adding letters F-Z if this resources is popular - please download and review it for this reason). An Inspector Calls - A4 Colouring Sheets / Coloring Pages for all of the Main Characters. Attached are high quality A4 versions of the main characters from the An Inspector Calls novel. Simply print as they are for students to either colour or to write describing phrases on the sheet. Another option is to print multiple (i.e. 6 to a page) so the students have small thumbnail versions of each character which they could colour / annotate and stick in their books with a paragraph describing the character. These worked great for us and we also made some A3 versions for display. Thanks for looking.
