A single sided worksheet to guide students through the use of standard deviation when analysing and comparing data. It does not go over the calculation. Markscheme included

A three-sided worksheet that covers gene probes and genetic tests. It is specifically aimed for the AQA A level Biology spec, but will be appropriate for most exam boards. It assesses student understanding of some core principles, whilst running through how geentic tests are carried out for cystic fibrosis, huntington’s and digeorge syndrome (using chromsomal micro-array). A PowerPoint which explores how DNA Methylation of promotors and Acetylation of histones affects gene expression. It is well illustrated and explores its implications in genetic disorders (prader-willi and angelman) as well as cancer. The worksheet then explores these concepts, which have suggested answers provided via the markscheme.

A level Biology maths skills worksheet. Single sided and answers included. Looks at percentages and percentage change calculations and using graphs. All under the context of lipids

A Simple presentation which includes a starter to recap the structure of the heart, and then promote discussion and to how coronary arteries may become blocked, risk factors and treatments for CHD. The powerpoint has supporting notes. The two sided worksheet includes low to higher demand questions to check understanding of CHD progression, risk factors and treatments. The dominoes are a nice pairs/individual loop activity which could be used as a starter to review heart structure and blood components

RAG Class Voting Quiz to use with Red/Amber/Green Cards Relay Quiz - Print slides 1 – 4 single sided in a separate colour for each team. Slice and put in a pile and staple the stack so it is in numerical order. Teams have to come and collect the 1st question, take it back to their team to answer, then bring it to you (the teacher) to have it checked. If they are correct they can move on to the next question. If they are wrong, you may choose to give them some verbal feedback they can share with their team. Great AfL activity which my students LOVE!

GCSE Biology - Protein Synthesis mechanism presentation which can be used to walk through protein synthesis with your GCSE classes. Covers, transcription, translation and the triplet code (although doesn’t explicitly refer to them as transcription and translation!) ***Not suitable for Edexcel exam board as there is no mention of tRNA

Use this to teach about skeletal structure (organ systems), to compare homologous features between humans and apes whilst teaching evolution, or as a fun activity for your 'Science club'!

New buyers only!*** Engaging activity on DNA replication - students work through the sheet using pipe cleaners to explain why the evidence proves replication is semi-conservative and not conservative or dispersive. Focusses on the experiment involving bacteria grown on heavy and light N isotopes. All you will need are 2 pipe cleaners of one colour, and 14 of another colour, per group (cut them into shorter ones to make them go further!). It is a student led activity - the presentation is a markscheme which allows you to work through the correct answers via useful PowerPoint animations
