Florence Nightingale Class Practical PE Science Art History Mission Activities

(1)
If you’re teaching Florence Nightingale, these missions can help to add practical activities to your lessons. 1 mission for each week which focusses on a different aspect of what Florence Nightingale experienced. Missions help to develop character traits in your children, such as team work, resilience, empathy, self-awareness, perseverance, excellence and communication. Missions can be set up in your hall, outside or in the classroom using simple PE equipment. As missions are not all focussed on winning, children work in groups to develop different character traits. There are designing tasks, art tasks and links with science included in the missions. There are 12 missions, with a 13th for a reward mission; this could be additional playtime or a bouncy castle! Links for the practical activities include PE, Art, History and Science, all matching the Year 2 curriculum.

The Final Countdown & 7 Years Leavers Assembly Robots Assembly

(1)
This is an assembly I wrote for the children leaving KS1 and going to KS2, but this could be adapted. The assembly starts with the Final Countdown by Europe with the words adapted for school. The assembly then goes through the children's learning journey for the term and has a Growth mindset theme. The final song is 7 Years by Lukas Graham with words changed to match a school theme. Both can be adapted further.

Whole School Spelling Support Scheme EYFS to Year 6

(0)
Using all available documents produced by the DFE, this support document has been created to incorporate all relevant documents to support schools in teaching the new Spelling Curriculum for each Year group for the 2014 National curriculum. This document goes from Phase 1 (Letters and Sounds) up to Phase 10 in Year 6. Statutory and Non-statutory guidance is included. References are made to Letters and Sounds, Support for Spelling and Grammar for Writing; indicating locations and relevant activities and cross references for each Year group to the relevant resource. A massive task but a great time saver for anyone looking at structuring and supporting their spelling whole school. The document can be used as a reference and a planning tool and can be highlighted and passed on to the next teacher.
