This is a smart notebook slide I have created to work through with my current year 2 class. I have created the questions to look like those given in the SATs. The questions are mostly arithmetic and I will try and find some time to do a reasoning one in due course. This is a worksheet where the chn have to discuss what the tally chart is about. LO and SC are included on the worksheet. Then the chn have to write the headings above the columns on the chart. Next the chn have to collect the data themselves, asking their peers which biscuit is their favourite and record it in tallies on the chart. Planning for Year One Monday to Wednesday - Bog Baby. The planning is for the very start of the book. Monday they listen to a description of the Bog Baby from the book and then make it using play dough. Then they write a description and then by Wednesday they predict what happens next in the story. LO and SC included on the plan. Easy to edit and saves loads of time!

Great for assessing children in EYFS or KS1. Write the child's name and whatever your assessing e.g naming shapes. If they are confident then draw a full triangle, if they are not quite there draw half a triangle and a comment if necessary and if they are just beginning the draw a '/' and make a comment.

This is a really handy resource I use in Year One. During guided reading sessions, several of my groups will read their guided reading books independently and then work through these questions. The worksheet can also be edited to differentiate questions. It is a great way of demonstrating to the children how to answer questions using a full sentence.
