Planning for 7 weeks of Phase 3 phonics catch up teaching - created with small groups/boosters/interventions in mind. Planned for use in Year 2, but could be used in any year group once Phase 3 has been taught. Beginning with vowel diagraph ‘ai’. Organised into 7 weeks of teaching, with 3 sessions planned for per week, but entirely flexible and editable. Follows the Revisit/Review, Practice, Teach, Apply structure. Includes reading and writing opportunities in every session, as well as practical ‘games’ / activities to create a pacy and fun learning environment. Space to record assessment notes per child. A reading record resource to help track which books children are taking home to read, in accordance with colour-banded book schemes. Adults to tick the colour band at the top. Names list down the side designed to be filled in with children’s names from the class and cut out, to use as tabs when placed into a ring binder folder.

Document to track the reading progression of pupils using colour-banded schemes (included reference to full scheme at the bottom). Word document and fully editable. Suitable for KS1 and KS2.

Excel spreadsheet to track spelling test results. Includes formulas to work out percentages of results over half a term etc. Editable for different groups, children’s names and totals for tests.
