This lesson covers revision activities which relate to the Year 8 NCELP course. The powerpoint includes activities on the following areas: AR, ER and IR verbs in the present tense. Irregular present tense verbs (voy, doy). AR, ER and IR verbs in the preterite tense. The difference between the present tense of ‘ir’ and the near future tense. The different uses of SER and ESTAR. This is a full lesson that I did as an NQT observation. It includes various activities such as reading comprehension, translation, quiz quiz trade speaking task etc. It aims to provide pupils with the necessary vocabulary and confidence to perform a role-play in pairs to the rest of the class. This was in preparation for Year 9 speaking tests.

This powerpoint and accompanying worksheets are enough to cover a 1 hour lesson on the topic of San Valentin (Valentine’s Day). Pupils will learn key vocabulary and practice translation skills - they will then write creatively in Spanish to produce their own Valentine’s day card and love poem. Translation task can be done individually or as a group-based activity, and tasks are differentiated.

This football themed worksheet allowed pupils to reflect on their progress throughout Year 10 (can be modified for different year group). Pupils must set themselves goals for Year 11 in all key areas of Spanish (Writing, Reading, Speaking, Listening, Translation). The resource is presented like a football to link with the idea of 'goals' (see what I did there!? :D ) This could be used as a worksheet and stuck into the pupils books, or it could make a nice display.
