We seek a committed musician who is looking to work in a thriving Music department, in a school where professional development and wellbeing are central to our philosophy. This position would be ideal for a Musician seeking to balance freelance work with a teaching post.

Currently, we deliver A Level Music in both Year 12 and Year 13, have 50 students studying for GCSE Music and our Key Stage 3 classes have 1hr per week music provision. Our students experience both academic and creative value that we believe Music inherently offers. Music has worth and Music is valued: it is not a bolt on at Heart of England.

If the possibility of additional hours interests you, we may be able to accommodate teaching hours in a second subject, delivering music sessions to smaller groups in our new Nurture centre, or providing interventions. Please contact us for an informal discussion if you have any questions.

Located in Balsall Common, a village in the West Midlands, Heart of England School is a co-educational secondary academy. The school has around 1300 pupilss, 250 of whom reside in the school sixth form, making it larger than the average secondary school. The vast majority of teaching takes place on-site, but the school does make use of a limited amount of off-site provision for students with certain educational needs. Heart of England School converted to academy status in 2011, but the school is not part of any wider academy group.
