A step by step guide on how to address Q3 when asked to write a journal. There are some slides that I have borrowed from another powerpoint and then I have put the rest together myself.

For this class you will need to have access to the 0500 2020 P12 exam paper - May / June.

I have written the codes for the other examples of journal questions in the notes section.

I hope this helps :)

Six lessons taken from the Collins iGCSE English book, but adapted with knowledge of the 2020 and beyond spec for iGCSE First Language.

The series of lessons cover things such as:

Skimming and scanning

Understanding explicit and implicit meaning

analysing implicit meaning in character and setting

emotive and sensory language

I have used some experience as an examiner to help with the powerpoints, and I hope you find it a useful resource in your lessons.

Please leave me feedback if you like this source.

Thanks in advance,

I have tried to put together a comprehensive walk through of Paper 13 May 2020.

You will need to download this paper and the insert to follow the lesson.

It will take approximately 4 x hour lessons to complete.

It is not exciting nor fancy, but should give students the knowledge of how to answer the questions.

Any feedback is gratefully received :)

This powerpoint aims to walk students through the stages of answering question 2d using May 2020 Paper 11.

I believe the key to students doing well in this exam is learning the steps and applying them throughout all their practice papers. The more they practise, the quicker they will become.

I hope that this resource is useful for you, and hope to receive feedback too!
