Designed to be based around security system for house. In first section, pupils measure angles that security camera's can cover. In second section they design Home Alone style 'Battle Plan' where different booby traps can cover different angles. Each section of lesson should be peer assessed.

Potentially three lessons on adding and subtracting negative numbers (74 slides long). Initially introduced using inverse operations and number tiles this lesson then goes on to focus on the number line and direction of movement. I have included a model of rising and falling hot air balloons for students who need a concrete image.

I have included comments on some slides to explain what i was thinking whilst planning these lessons and all answers are included.

Happy to receive feedback and hop that you find useful.

Number Line L6 - Place Value and ordering decimals (including inequalities)

This lesson builds from basic place value and number lines to comparing decimals using inequalities and onto ordering decimals on a number line (including negative decimals. I have attempted a mastery approach with practice at each stage as the lesson develops.

I have also attempted to maintain a link to ordering fractions and the equivalence between fractions and decimals.

Happy to receive feedback and hope you find this useful.

Here is my attempt at an interleaved maths curriculum delivered using a mastery approach. Each powerpoint focuses on the main title of the lesson however i have looked for opportunities to introduce ideas used in other topics as early as possible. My aim is to create and maintain links between topics so students see the bigger picture of maths rather than individual lessons.

All answers are included and I have included comments on certain slides that attempt to explain what i was thinking when planning these lessons and how you might link to other topics.

Happy to receive feedback and hope you find useful.

Lesson builds from comparing fractions with the same denominator, then comparing with the same numerator and finally onto using equivalent fractions to compare.

This lesson aims to be delivered using a mastery approach with practice at each teaching point and plenty of opportunities for reasoning and discussion.

Happy to receive feedback.

This lesson (could be 2) aims to talk through all of the above with an ultimate aim of developing fluency with inequalities. Lots of focus on reading inequalities left to right as well as right to left and going both ways for each task (inequality to integers and then integers to inequality for example).

I have looked for opportunities to link to other topics in an effort to create links for the students, revise thinks previously seen or introduce topics coming late in the curriculum.

I have also included comments throughout that try to explain what i was thinking when planning this lesson. Happy to receive feedback and hope you find them useful.

This is a lesson that would nicely bolt onto the end of lesson 4 (Comparing fractions using equivalents and inequalities). Im putting this up here for free as it might not be a full lesson.

Happy to receive feedback and hope you find this useful.
