-CAR, -GAR, -ZAR Preterit tiny practice

Part 1: -CAR verbs (buscar, tocar, sacar)

Part 2: -GAR verbs (jugar, pagar, llegar)

Part 3: -ZAR verbs (empezar, almorzar, comenzar)

For each part, students will write the spelling change (c-qu, g-gu, and z-c) for three verbs in the yo form only. For the remaining conjugations (tu, el, ella, Ud, nosotros, vosotros, ellos, ellas, Uds), students will write the correct letter of the conjugation.

Example:

1. Buscar (to look for): Yo bus ____ é

c. buscó / tocó / sacó

e.buscaste / tocaste / sacaste

____ 1. Buscar, Tocar, Sacar (Tú)

____ 2. Buscar, Tocar, Sacar (Él / Ella / Ud.)

Part 4: Students will answer 9 questions with the aforementioned verbs using the preterit. Note: All questions are information questions and in the tú conjugation.

Answer key is included for parts 1-3 only. For part 4, student answers will vary.

Pages 1-3 are the practice and pages 4-5 are the answer key.

This practice can be used for classwork, homework, quiz, entry or exit slip (broken up into sections).
