This task is designed to practice budgeting skills in Year 4, 5 or 6, or even at the start of Year 7 as a Back to School project. There are two options for the tasks, page 6 is a general version, and page 7 is an alternative that could be used at the end of Year 6 when discussing starting high school.
Students will need to be provided with either store catalogues which feature the items required or access to the internet to get prices from store websites.
I have given students free reign here in how to record their work, but you may wish to give them a template to follow, or some examples.
No grading rubric has been attached due to the open nature of the task and the range of students it could apply to, but there is a brief mention to students of how they will be graded on page 9, which should help you start a grading rubric specific to your class.
I have given the product as a PowerPoint file so that the shopping list can be edited, but I have included printing instructions from a PDF file as this is the easiest way to print. PowerPoint files can be exported to PDF through Microsoft PowerPoint.
