Nine detailed PPTs and activities that links to Chapter's 1,2 and 3 of the new Edexcel GCSE 9-1 curriculum.
The following topics are covered:
1. British settlement in North America
2. A disrupted society
3. The loss of an empire
These lessons are planned using the Pearson and Hodder books although neither textbook is necessary for the activities.
Our resources aim to instill independent learning in students. Our activities are carefully created to develop historical concepts such as significance, chronology, causation and consequence while mastering exam technique.

Some good teaching ideas, and the powerpoint presentations and handouts are certainly helpful as a starting point for planning lessons, but much of this can't be used as is without also having the relevant textbook, as many of the activities say things like "read pp13-15 of the textbook" and make notes". (It doesn't specify which textbook, although it seems to match Edexcel's standard one.) So not really a pack of ready-to-teach resources as advertised. Also, some of the advice in the How to Answer Exam Questions handout is plain wrong. Q2 is worth 8 marks, not 12, and there are no sources in Q3. That said, it has considerably sped up my planning of what for us is a new unit, so definitely useful.
