Up And Down The Beanstalk - DT activities
This unit can be used alongside the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. It provides opportunities for the children to use design and technology to create a product and link it to their storytelling.

Included:

• Worksheets
• Target sheet (LO)

Children explore how to make winding mechanisms using construction kits, and then make their own toy based on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk using a winding mechanism out of reclaimed materials.
Worksheets include identifying on diagram parts that can be changed for their design, illustrating and labelling how the toy and mechanism will look, selecting from lists materials and tools, writing in which order they will work, and recording their evaluation.
