Five First World War literacy lessons Year 6/7 - persuasive argument, drama, poetry, letter writing and newspaper journalism for WWI centenary

This bundle includes five stand-alone First World War literacy lessons designed for Year 6 or 7 children, and is ideal for a week of lessons to celebrate the centenary of the end of WWI.

The lessons cover a range of genres:
persuasive argument, drama, poetry, letter writing and newspaper journalism.

Each lesson includes a recap of the features of the genre as well as a full lesson plan and all resources needed, such as video clips, scene cards, writing frames, word banks, examples to ‘model write’ on the board with instructions, etc.

I am a qualified journalist and Year 6 teacher and have received an outstanding grade in all recent observations from my head teacher and more senior outside observers.
