This lesson is designed to be an engaging and exciting activity for students to learn about X-Rays, CT Scans, MRI Scans and the differences between them. It can be used for the new Triple GCSE Specification, or for BTEC/A Level Physics Students.

It begins by introducing the techniques and assessing the students prior knowledge of these. Afterwards, the students are given one of 6 different worksheets, representing an NHS Hospital, they then have to 'network' with their peers to obtain the full information and fill in their sheet. This is done on a timer, so expect a lot of excitement!

Afterwards the students are faced with 3 different A&E Scenarios, where they must decide how to scan each critical patient, using the information filled in on their sheets. If they get it wrong, their patient could die!

At the end of the lesson, they will then come back to their starter and show the progress that they have made during your lesson. This lesson was recently rated outstanding during observation.

Attached is the full Lesson Plan, the 6 'Hospital' Sheets, the full lesson Powerpoint, and the Starter/Plenary Task. If you need further help with this resource, I will be on hand to offer guidance/tweaks if necessary. Enjoy! :)
