Epo I Tai Tai E – A Body Percussion Song from New Zealand
Teaches the Maori song then adds simple, medium & harder parts for body
percussion.
It also shows ukulele chords graded into simple, medium and expert.
First thing to do is: Learn the Song.
Follow the words on the screen and then try to sing along.
Level 1 – Beginner Body Percussion using the pattern:
Pat, pat, clap, clap, touch shoulders with crossed arms 4 times.
Practise doing the body percussion then try to sing and do the percussion at the same time.
Ukulele chords used for Level 1 are G and C
Level 2 – Advanced Body Percussion using the pattern:
Pat left, right, left, right, clap left, right, left, right, clap
Ukulele chords used for Level 2 are G, C and D
Level 3 – Expert Body Percussion using the pattern:
Pat left, right, clap Pat left, right, snap
Pat left, right, left, right, snap
Ukulele chords used for Level 3 are G, C, G major 7, D and E minor
NB: During online learning I have been producing Miss Minto’s Musical Moments. These are freely available for use with pupils and are suitable for primary aged children. Some will appear on TES and some on the Facebook page for Notable Songs Ltd. Search using: “Miss Minto’s Musical Moments”. There are several dozen “Musical Moments”!
