A revision clock is a innovative method of getting pupils to split their time up in a lesson or at home when revising and to break larger topics down into manageable chunks. Pupils have a limited time to write down facts about a given topic. This revision clock has been adapted to allow pupils thinking time to construct an extended writing paragraph. In this case the time limit will probably be less than an hour, say eight minutes. The eight minutes are split into the four sections: Point, Evidence, Analysis, Summary. Pupils would two minutes to write notes or construct each part of their paragraph, creating a draft version. This is a quick and effective way of showing pupils that they can write an extended paragraph with ease.

With literacy and extended written the focus across the wider curriculum, this simple activity card will help pupils to produce a well written paragraph in a typically practical based subject where pupils may not expect to be producing written work.
