Practice: Questions with -ar, -er, -ir preterit verbs

This is a packet to practice answering questions with regular -ar, -er, -ir verbs in the preterit.

For each verb type (-ar, -er, -ir) students will conjugate 3 verbs and answer 6 information questions. For the information questions, students will write the subject and verb of the question and answer, and then answer the question in a complete sentence in the template provided.

Pages 1-2: AR verbs: Conjugate hablar, estudiar, mirar for all persons and answer 6 questions with hablar, mirar, pasar, estudiar, bailar, tomar

Pages 3-4: ER verbs: Conjugate comer, beber, comprender for all persons and answer 6 questions with comer, beber, comprender, aprender, vender, correr

Pages 5-6: IR verbs: Conjugate vivir, escribir, salir for all persons and answer 6 questions with comer, escribir, salir, decidir, compartir, asistir

Note: For personal questions, the English translation of the infinitive is provided.

Ex: 1. ¿Con quién hablaste tú ayer? (hablar: to speak)

  • -AR, -ER, and -IR verb endings are also provided for reference.

Pages 7-13 are the answer key. Note: For personal questions, student answers will vary.

This practice can be used for classwork, homework, test / quiz, or as part of your sub plans.
