This PowerPoint contains 101 philosophical debates for the music classroom. It covers a broad array of topics: all aim to trigger philosophical debates and discussions that relate to music.

Each debate slide asks students to move to one side of the room or the other to make their position clear: teachers should then use questioning to foster a debate between students, encouraging them to present reasons for their choice and defend their position.

It also includes a ‘randomiser’ slide so that you can generate random debate topics instantly.

It is aimed at students aged 12-18: as with many philosophical issues, these are engaging for young people and adults!

There are many uses:
-End of lesson discussions in the music classroom
-Instant cover lessons for music teachers
-Form-time/tutor-groups
-Debating societies
-Boosting SMSC in music classrooms
-Boosting cross-curricular links in music classrooms
-Fostering cross-curricular links to music in other subjects!

An amazing resource, this should be in all music teacher's toolbox! There's a great variety of discussion topics, must have taken ages to make this: there's a great range of ability levels catered for. Very professionally made and a great activity format. We've had some amazing debates already, thanks for sharing! :)
