This simulation is now Online Ready!
World War 2 Simulation Activity for middle and high school students. This interactive World War 2 Lesson Plan is easy to set up and customize based on your class’s size. Students are assigned roles as leaders or foreign ministers of 18 countries involved in World War II (which can be combined for smaller class sizes). Students then begin by learning about the causes and background of The Second World War in the World Situation Summary. Leaders and foreign ministers begin meeting with other countries: forming alliances, negotiating deals and plotting strategy for war. The first day, 1939, the aggressor nations move quickly to capture the vital natural resources their countries lack: Iron Ore, Coal, Oil, Rubber. Guided by their objectives, students engage in diplomacy, negotiation and problem solving.
The “magic” behind this World War 2 Lesson Plan is that students become emotionally involved with their countries and competitive about achieving their countries’ objectives. This World War 2 Simulation is a collection of Microsoft Word and Excel documents. The documents are organized in binders, for students and used in combination with the Asian and European War Maps on your projector to bring World War Two to life in your classroom! Now with Common Core Reports! This unit can be repeated each year and will be among your most popular lessons plans of the school year.
