This is an original poem written for a Y6 leavers’ assembly.
It is made up of 12 four line, rhyming stanzas.
It can be used for individual, paired, group or whole class poetry writing. It is also ideal for using in the end of year leavers’ assembly.
It covers the topic of Y6s leaving primary school, and their hopes and dreams as they look forward to moving to secondary school. It can either be simply recited or acted out.
