For a very low ability FCSE French group, but would be suitable for lower year groups. \nWould be good for cover.\n\nMatch up key vocab.\nSimple reading task (checking understanding of il y a and il n'y a pas de).\nMatching places to activities with 'on peut'.\n\nFont size is massive so you can print 2 sheets per page.

Lesson introducing the verb aller and different methods of transport.\n\nDoesn't involve loads of drilling of aller, but exposes pupils to the concept of irregular verbs. They should be able to use 'je vais' 'tu vas' and 'il va' and just be aware of the other forms.

Read and run activity for bottom set Y8. \n\n4 fairly straightforward texts about holidays in the past tense, with 15 questions for pupils to answer in teams by reading the texts around the room.\n\nThe last 3 questions require them to answer in French by finding the correct phrase.

Straightforward resource for presenting and practising key vocabulary.\n\n-Recap of some places in town (crossword).\n-muy/bastante/cerca/lejos\n-kilometros/minutos\n-andando/en coche etc. \n\nAimed at low ability KS3.

2-3 lessons on the weather and activities in the near future tense for a weak KS3 group. \n\n1st lesson - presenting the vocabulary, recording on a sheet, understanding sentences about weather in different locations.\n\n2nd lesson - listening from Mira 1, then near future tense linked with weather (plans for the weekend).

Resources for 2 lessons for Year 9. \n\nIntroduces key vocabulary (positive and negative statements about a town) with lo bueno / lo malo / lo mejor / lo peor. \n\nPractise by:\n-translating sentences\n-reading comprehension\n-writing (adapting a model text)

Powerpoint resources for the 1st 5 lessons on this topic with a pretty good bottom set who will be taking French to GCSE.\n\nFocus on revising/consolidating vocabulary from previous years (introducing yourself, physical description) but also using the imperfect tense just in the 'je' form.\n\nAimed at a largely 'Vert' class but some crossover with 'Rouge' due to inclusion of imperfect.

2 lessons for a top/middle set Year 10 class. \n\nFocus is on getting pupils to write good sentences to include in controlled assessment preparation, exposing more able pupils to advanced structures without making it too scary for those who struggle more.\n\nEDIT: Just to say that several of the slides come from other TES resources so many thanks if you spot your own work.

Reading task based on Expo 2 Vert p62 but extended (I have added an extra text and broken down the activities more). \n\nThis is for a low ability group so begins with the basics - recognising food words they have done and underlining them.\nThen they have to identify which person mentions which foods, and there are some extension questions for the more able in the group to move onto.

For Year 8 low ability group on pancake day. \n\nLinks in with current module (just starting food and drink - Expo 2, Module 4) but includes some cultural aspects on la Chandeleur and Mardi gras. \n\nMain idea for resource (pictures and vocab) taken from another TES resource (http://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/Les-cr-and-234-pes-6071144/) but I have added to it to keep my class busy for a whole lesson.

Lesson on sports using jugar + time phrases.\n\nLesson on sports using hacer/practicar and choosing the correct one.

Year 8 lesson for pupils following Expo 2 Rouge.\n\nAlready done modal verbs (invitations and excuses) and clothes. Combine/consolidate in this lesson.\n\n1) discuss uniform in France/watch clip.\n2) key vocabulary - things not allowed in school.\n3) categorise statements with modal verbs (can, must, can't wear)\n4) does the statement apply to England or France?\n\nFor part 3, statements are on individual slides as I send pupils slides on iPads (pdf version attached for those who have this option). But can easily be adapted.

Reading task - problem solving. \n\n-Present food groups.\n-Categorise vocab into 6 groups.\n-Reading - guess the food item from description, then write own version for the class to guess.

A reading task I made for a Y9 bottom set beginners Spanish group who have been learning Spanish for about 10 weeks so far.\n\nThe main aim is to recognise the difference between 'soy de' and 'vivo en' with place names, but there's plenty of added detail to make it a bit more challenging. \n\nI&'ve made the font size big so it can be copied 2:1, giving A5 sheets.
