This school assembly presentation explores the history and evolution of Halloween, starting with its origins in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain and its transformation into All Hallows’ Eve. The presentation highlights key Halloween traditions, including costumes, pumpkin carving, and trick-or-treating, explaining how these customs developed over time.
It also provides important safety tips for children participating in trick-or-treating, emphasising the need to stay with an adult, remain visible, and check treats before eating them. The presentation offers insight into how Halloween is celebrated in different countries, such as the USA, Mexico, and Japan, illustrating the diverse ways people observe the holiday.
Additionally, the presentation covers how Halloween has changed over the years, becoming a fun and widely celebrated event with modern twists like costume parties and themed decorations.
To add a creative touch, a Halloween poem is included, capturing the excitement and fun of the holiday. The presentation concludes with a reminder to enjoy Halloween safely and celebrate in the spirit of fun and tradition.

Each story focuses on activities that children might encounter in their own lives, such as spending time with family, playing games, and helping in the kitchen.
The stories are designed with vocabulary that supports early reading skills, including high-frequency words and simple sentence structures. This helps children build confidence in reading while also expanding their understanding of new words in context. Each story encourages positive emotions, like pride, cooperation, and happiness, making these relatable tales both enjoyable and meaningful for young readers.
