Translation from English into Spanish on this theme. The translation adds up to key points useful for revision/essay writing. I made this resource with the help of the Hodder publication on the film (an excellent film guide, by the way!). Happy teaching and learning, Blanca.
This is an adaptation of the original work by Joan Tobin.
A Power point with notes to prepare students to answer the question of who holds the power in society, men or women.
This is an extract of a PP I have created with 19 gap graded exercises in preparation for Paper 1.
The full PP has 5 exercises with single sentences to introduce Y12 to this type of challenging exercises. This is followed by 14 graded exercises of various difficulties leading to the final exam.
The exercises are varied in literary text, including one or two non-fiction, linked to the topics of the specification. They test a great variety of grammar traps such as pronouns, por/para, tenses, accents, etc.

This breakdown is to help your students and you calculate grades based on each skill.
It is based on the 2023 AQA grade boundaries for A Level Spanish.

This is a cover sheet to return with written pieces. I have simplified it from the AQA mark scheme for the AS or first year. It corresponds to Paper 2 (Writing) in the AS Specification. It is intended to provide feedback on essays based on the book or film, but it can also be used to provide marks, feedback and set targets for any long piece of writing. For this reason I have adapted the heading in the first box to any "topic".
The idea is that, from the beginning of the course, students get used to writing critical responses, different viewpoints that are explained and evidence, and focus on grammar and structure. For example, I have just used it to provide feedback on an essay on mobiles. This should have a positive impact on their speaking too.
A one sheet starter activity, where students identify the odd one out.
This can lead to further activities:
-asking students to do online research on particular dictators and identify which apply to them most.
asking students to describe the term in their own words and provide an example of a dictator’s activities matching the term
translation and memorising
A PP to guide students to plan and write their first Lorca essay (please bear in mind that I teach it in Y12).

A fun translation activity based on a revision task in the AQA book p. 104, at the end of the topic La identidad Regional.
The task revises numbers, the subjunctive, vocabulary and accents.
You can do it as a competitive speaking activity, followed by the same exercise in writing.
